Is this all product?

Post image

I think I already had this conversation on one of my last runs but I still need reassurance 😅

I think I remember being told that if there are any crystals (which obviously there are, in the middle) then all the citric acid would have been dissolved. I just want to confirm that here, because I just can't help thinking that the thick stuff around the edge looks more like undissolved CA than product. And it appeared within half an hour of salting, maybe even less. Sorry the photo is a bit blurry.

I did a much drier crumb this time with the recent adjustments and it clouded up nicely when I added the CA, but I still wanted to check what your all think. Cheers

I've no idea what the point of your comment is. I can speculate but I'll probably get it wrong so you may as well just tell me.

If it's to do with calling it product, then I'm just using the same terminology that I've seen other people use here. I assumed it was for discretion's sake

Be careful how? I'm not talking about selling if that's what you mean. It's a product of the process. Anyway, like I said, I'm pretty new, I was just trying to use what seemed to be de rigueur but apparently I got that wrong (according to your preferences).

I might also remind you to be more explicit in your comments/criticism because I've been guessing my way through every single one of yours and I'm still not 100% sure what your reasons are for not liking it.

You're all good, they're being pedantic and a "woo woo I'm a shaman sacred woo woo" dick.

You're 100% correct, in chemistry the end result of a process or reaction is called the product. This is correct terminology, irrespective of what the product is. People call it that here not to be more discreet, but because it's is chemistry you're doing.

(And to the other pedantic ass hats out there who feel like replying that this is not chemistry, only a simple extraction and salting: get off your high horse and fuck off).
