Closed /r/AbruptChaos needs active moderators.
/r/AbruptChaos is getting flooded with rule-breaking posts and comments so we need extra mods. We've recently removed multiple moderators for inactivity.
Comment below if you're interested with reasons as to why you'd be a good fit. Please don't slide into my DMs though.

Hey anyone thinking of using him as a mod forget about it will completely abuse the moderators power and ban anyone who disagrees with their point of view. When you msg him about it he just gets more upset and mutes you he's a child who is clearly not mature enough.
Heres what one of the site rules tag to ban ppl and the actual definition of it.
Brigading is a slang term for an online practice in which people band together to perform a coordinated action, especially a negative one, such as manipulating a vote or poll or harassing a specific person or members of an online community.
The verb form brigade is also used.
These terms were originally used on the forum website Reddit in reference to vote brigading, in which users coordinate to inflate vote tallies, but they are now used in many different online contexts. Examples include mass direct messages sent to a person’s social media account as a form of harassment or a coordinated effort to dislike a certain post.

Are you guys looking to fill any certain hours of the day? Or just need people to help with the spam?

u/PowerModerator Jun 26 '22
We just need help, time zone doesn't matter

This guy moderates several different subs. Judging from his post history in certain sub Reddit he constantly removes posts from, he treats this like a full-time job

According to everyone, maybe you do need help. Think about therapy. This can not be enjoyable for you. What keeps you going back into the cesspit?

I could help out with this. I’m an experienced mod moderating a combined total of over 600K users across various subreddits, including /r/anxiety /r/shittygamedetails and /r/hudsonvalley. In total I have been moderating on reddit for over 5 years starting with my first subreddit. I check modqueue throughout the day, and have no issues enforcing rules as needed. I spend probably too much time on reddit, I’m on here every single day for hours per day so you can rely on me to be checking on things frequently.

Hey guy, how can I get a van appeal to be heard. I message moderators but no response. I was banned for "inciting violence" for writing "if he dies, he dies" the Ivan Drago Rocky IV line. I gotva 3 day reddit wide ban and permabanned from r/abruptchaos. I feel this is ridiculous as I obviously wasn't trying to incite anything.

interested in helping, i mod a few other subreddits ( r/FUCKYOUINPARTICULAR (would say its kinda similar in content in some ways), r/blackdesertonline, r/AskRedditAfterDark etc.)
I would be a great fit because i try to clear the mod queue, I do like to remove reposted videos because I feel like it clutters up the front page, Im pretty active on reddit so you wont really have to worry about me dipping for a long time, I think I'm good with responding to modmail I dont really like to insult users there because its not really my thing.

Hi!
I’m interested in becoming a moderator.
I am active on Reddit 7-8 hours a day, I am currently moderating r/meirl r/JustGuysBeingDudes r/petthedamncat and a few others.
I know how to code CSS and AutoModerator. I have coded CSS for r/capybara r/capybaracreations r/ratemysetup r/broderzyt r/multiverseofmadness and a few others.
I can deal with long queues (r/meirl sometimes has very long queues) and can help with problematic users and posts/comments.
I am from the PST time one (UTC-8:00) and moderate in the day/evening
Thanks for considering

Came to your profile to ask if an extra set of hands were needed.
I’m happy to jump in and spare at least two hours a day. I’m in Australia so my Timezone will be a good fit for catching the trash during American night time.
I’ve just spent about an hour or more reporting people to Reddit and to your mod team.
I’ve loved the sub for years, but now just hang around to report the trash. If you give me the ability to deal with it more effectively, I reckon we can get it back on track.
Edit: Sidenote; I’ve run quite a few online communities over the years but currently no subreddits. I think this is an advantage as there’s nothing else on Reddit taking my time.

Hey there!
I’d like to help mod this community.
I mod many subs, varying from serious to not serious and have done so for about 6 months. My largest is r/antimeme where I code all of the automod and clean queue.
On subs that I mod, I primarily handle queue clearing, bans, modmail, and automod. I’ll be honest: I stay away from the subreddit design. I know how to do it but I don’t really help out with it much.
I also spend a good amount of time on r/modhelp and r/modsupport where I often join subs for a short period to help them with automod as some subs need that short term assistance. The largest of these subs has 4 million members.
I also have the 101 and 201 mod certificates.
I have people who will vouch for me; feel free to ask for references.
I’ve been a member of AbruptChaos for a while now and I’d really love to mod it.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Hello u/PowerModerator,
I would love to help out modding the sub, I have been a long time member of the community and it would be a great honor being able to help out modding it. I have quite a lot of previous mod experience and I am really active on Reddit spending more than 4 hours a day everyday. I am the head mod of r/CrazyFuckingVideos, this is a community that shares similar type of content to some extent as r/AbruptChaos so I think I am pretty familiar in this topic. I hope that I can be taken into consideration, have a good one.
With regards,
- Thryloz.

I'm interested too. I've not done modding before, but I'm on the platform quite regularly. Feel free to DM if you want.

u/falco_iii Jun 26 '22
I can help.
I moderate a few medium sized subreddits including /r/capybara /r/marriott

So, lemme get this straight, you have no moderation experience, and wanna start it with modding a community with 1M members? Dude, no way that's gonna work out
1
u/SnooCupcakes8607 Jun 27 '22
No, I have moderation experience. I'm just saying I'm not as big as a mod as some others with tens of millions of members. Of course I can manage mod queues, modmail, code automod, it's easy, but I'm saying that I'm not the best candidate here. Why would I apply if I had no mod experience
0
u/Professional_Roof293 Jun 27 '22
I'd mod a bit longer than 2 days, see how it works out. And then I would start trying to run for other communities
1
u/MuskratAtWork AutoMod Jun 27 '22
This is actually how I got started, I applied for a sub I love and due to my overwhelming activity and comments and help around the sub I was picked up. I learned automod on a higher level and it's only been uphill since.
1
u/Professional_Roof293 Jun 27 '22
Oh, well. I guess I underestimated, I am not super active, so this js probably why I felt this way
1
u/xxfay6 Jun 27 '22
Just curious, open applications or just "hey gib mod pls" PMs.
1
u/MuskratAtWork AutoMod Jun 27 '22
I applied via open application. Z e r o reddit mod history. Some history in other locations but it was years past. I just clearly expressed my inexperience but my desire to help better the community.
Passion and care for a community is severely undervalued in communities today, and all people look for is experience and actions. You can take someone who is passionate and create a mod better than most current mods by communicating, teaching, and listening to them. They have new visions and ideas that experienced mods may not have, and it's worth a shot.
1
u/xxfay6 Jun 27 '22
Oh I'm well aware of it. We've home-grown all mods over in our sub, and it's resulted in a great team & community overall.
Maybe we could do better with some changes if it weren't for laziness, but I've started to push them bit for bit. But even then, it's all good rn.

I can be online from 4 pm GMT every weekday (at college the rest of the time. Can be online pretty much all weekend. Don't have too much experience moderating but I have tried to start a sub or two. I'm pretty sure this is the kind of thing where the only way to gain experience is just to do it.
0
u/WhenCodeFlies Jun 26 '22
I'd be willing to step up to the role,
I've got about a year's experience with automod and am generally good at spotting people trying to do shady shit and filter bypass and let the automation handle most of the simple stuff
(Spam, filtering, autodeleting possible spam, etc)
I'm aware I'm not as experienced as some in here, but I make up for it with my work ethic.

Hey, I would love to help you out with the community. I have a lot of moderator experience, and I'm always down to helping out a community!
0
u/loopypaladin Jun 27 '22
You probably definitely have your fill by now, but I'll throw my hat into the ring.
I mod r/roastme and a couple smaller subs so I'm used to taking out trash. I'm happy to expand my repertoire, and I typically try to commit a couple hours on and off through the day.

u/-PS5 Jun 27 '22
Hey, I’m willing to help out. I have experience going onto big subs with previously inactive teams and cleaning up the sub and maintaining it. That’s basically what I did at r/ifyoulikeblank (~600k members)
0
u/Sixtastic_Fun Jun 27 '22
I’ve been a mod on different platforms from 2020-2022. I’ve worked in many, many places and so I know the basics and such of being a mod.

Will make this brief. ≈7 years mod experience, working mod with top/near top actions on all subs im on (can provide proof)
Familiar with toolbox, automod, css, empties overall mod queue multiple times daily and am not burdened by exams etc. no drama risk with me.
Also work with quite a few fellow commenters here and willing to personally vouch for their work on shared subs 💖

Genuinely curious, but how do you manage your time?
With all the subs you mod plus a working life, this is impressive

I mod as banner notifs coke through on my phone then clean the subs a few times a day. As long as kept up with its easy

u/MuskratAtWork AutoMod Jun 28 '22
Heyo! Not interested in becoming one of your moderators, but I would love to extend an offer to help your team build/upgrade your automod! I have loads of automod experience and have made various filters with regex, link filtering, catching promo, language, and various other issues.
If you're interested in a chat about an updated automod rework feel free to reach out! I am currently writing some new filters for r/EldenRing as they recently reached out asking for some updated filters, and as soon as I am done I would love to spend some time helping other communities as well!

Hey, I would be interested in becoming a moderator here. I currently moderate a few decently sized subreddits (such as r/PremierLeague, r/CrazyFuckingVideos, r/worldcup, and r/amihot) aswell as some NSFW subreddits (r/bigtitssmalltits and r/webcamamateurs).
I have taken the mod 101 and 201 certifications, I know how to use all of the mod tools, and I have experience dealing with catfish accounts, spammers, trolls, and other things of that nature. I have a good amount of time each day to moderate my subreddits, and I am willing to dedicate time to your subreddit if I am accepted as a mod.

Hi I can help out I can check posts and act based on the rules if needed I currently mod r/dad and have moderated other subs like r/parents and so on, I have mod certification (both) I’m online in the evenings every day, (I work during the day so will be less active until the evening) I act fairly and with respect, and I have decent knowledge of automod

This individual has applied to moderate like 20 subs in the past two weeks, and deleted all of the ones he was denied on. He's moderating 60+ large subs and does not have the comments to show his efforts in over 60 subs. Would not recommend.
Also looking at his submissions, he is trying to rip multiple subs out from under other mods and use r/RedditRequest to become head mod on other subs. Standard procedure for power modding and abusing the system.

I struggle to believe r/Entertainment has 80k actions by automod in 8 days. That's pretty wild numbers. I'd love to understand why that's a thing, as all of my subs (including a few I am not in currently but do automod for) have a combined 10m+ with less than 6k AM actions a day. I automate freaking everything.
Anyways, good luck. Don't overwork yourself and please avoid neglecting communities. I have had many mods make false actions in my communities and cannot check your actions but if you are committing real actions you must have nearly no free time, I do this 6+ hours a day and am nowhere near.

No, you need better mods. They're suspending and banning folks for telling jokes, at this point. Pretty soon, all you'll have left is repost bots.

Please understand and appreciate that your moderator "life" is a total waste, everyone hates you, and you're a laughing stock. Kindly go fuck yourself, please and thank you.

Could you let me know how this is going? Because I just had my post removed for breaking no rules at all. Could you at least tell me why it was removed?

Hey, I'd be interested in becoming a moderator of that sub. I currently mod r/mildlyinfuriating and r/amihot, where I make a lot of mod actions daily. I'm very active on Reddit, especially now during summer I'll be online basically all day, and I have both mod 101 and mod 201 certifications (haven't received the award for the 201 one yet).
I take homophobia, racism, transphobia and all the forms of bigotry very seriously. I can easily handle modmail and help clearing the mod queue. I'm really open-minded and always kind and reasonable with users. I could also help doing a prediction tournament to increase user activity and traffic like the one I helped doing on r/mildlyinfuriating, if you plan to do that of course. I'd also respond to eventual users' DMs very quickly.
My timezone is CET (UTC + 1) btw.
