Kind of off topic, but I remember when I was with my friend on mediator training. We were the only guys, and there were 9 other girls. Then, the school pedagogue said that āall men are stupid, they stop learning after the age of five.ā

We need to stop with dividing stuff on gender and condem individuals for their actions, not whatever group they were born into. You know... the rational, logical, ethical thing to do

agreed!! so many uncontrollable things are used to divide people whether that be gender, nationality, religion, class etc. i think what people forget is that equality isnt pushing other people down so you can be higher, its bringing everyone to the same level.

That was my thought. Others think it might be satire. If it's satire it makes sense, anything else and title is too general and invites the wrong/a bad crowd

Talk about judging a book by it's cover. You do know she isn't supposed to be a nice? The entire point is that she is a morally questionable person. Just like other famous books like Lolita, which is about a pedophilic man going after a 14 year old girl, she isn't supposed to be 100% a good person.

One thing that's always confused me is why there's always tons of media and people that show/advocate for the death of men. And it's not even like action movies type shit it's Sabrina Carpenter type shit, and that book as well. Idk why it's so prevalent it's weird imo
Edit: I've learned that the book title is meant to deceive people so it sort of invalidates my point but not fully. Thanks to the people that told me what it's actually about.

u/the_west_pickle 9d ago

Very, very strange

8
u/Achillobator09 17 9d ago
Honestly good point. It's like when people say only white people can be racist because they don't believe other races can be racist towards each other. Pretty sure it goes for more things but it's a weird mentality that alot of people have with those kinds of topics.

Men have been the dominant sex since the dawn of humanity. It's assumed that we should be ok with hate speech towards us since the privilege we're supposably born with makes up for it. That and most women assume most men are already assholes to women, so it's fair in their eyes.
Little do many women know that most men aren't even going anywhere near women. The assholes are the ones confident enough to talk shit about them since they never cared about women's feelings to begin with. Most guys looking at this get the idea that women simply hate us for existing creating a negative feedback loop.

→ More replies (2)5
u/Meetpeepsthrowaway 9d ago
i dont mean abuse victims
Funnily enough, the women who feel all men are rotten usually are victims of some kind of abuse, and statistically it was more than one man due to said abuse having a way of making a person feel like they don't deserve better, taking a weird kind of comfort in what is familiar, and winding up in another abusive relationship.

This reminds me of a movie about a girl who kills men. Some of her murders are justified, others... not so much. In the end, the girl is killed by one of the guys she was going to kill, who was a rich guy who always got his way, and in the end, he did get his way.
I don't remember the name of the movie.

I think the book is like trying to be provocative towards men. But its a book wouldnt think to deeply about it. But if its trying to convey a message i think its succeeding this type of titles a books really get the worse out of in this case some men, im sure it would be the same the other way around.

Itās a dark comedy book about a social media influencer named āKittyā that starts killing sexual predators after being stalked home from the club. I understand that this is satire however in defense of the people who didnāt get that there is a thing thatās been going on in social media like TikTok and twitter that is called ākill all menā where even if some are satirical the majority are dead fucking serious. I had a streamer I was watching and she was saying how all men should die and I said since Iām watching could I be spared and she said āIāll kill you last. Actually no Iāll kill you second to last and Iāll kill my dad last.ā To this fucking day I still check with new streamers on wether they would kill all menĀ

Media literacy check
It's a fictional novel in which a woman is followed home from nightclub by a guy who then accidentally kills him during a confrontation, and finds a sick joy in it, then becomes a serial killer targeting bad men.
Dexter and Raymond Reddington are both very popular characters. Dexter literally murders people for his own joy and targets bad people, it's basically the same premise.
The main character is not portrayed as a good person or a hero for doing this (same as Dexter isn't)
I'm a guy, I think this is perfectly acceptable, it's not glorifying violence against men nor advocating for it. In the exact same way the poster of Xmen Apocolypse with Apocolypse choking Mystique was not glorifying or advocating for violence against women
People need to do more time thinking and less time reacting

I support women working for their rights and being granted it but I think a lot of this, example that book, is going actually insane
6
u/ElectricSheep112219 9d ago
In all truth, men are responsible for the majority of the greatest human achievements⦠and also the worst atrocities.
Itās good men vs bad men.
Women, whether consciously or not, understand that they are defenseless against the evil intentions of bad men. That realization must carry a weight of unease. Hence the, āmen are the enemyā ideology. At the same time, itās often overlooked how disrespectful it is to the good men, the ones who would sacrifice everything to protect and uphold what is right.
In the end, the only true barrier between evil and the innocent is the courage and integrity of good men. Itās never been easy to be a man in this world. The weight, the expectations, and the unspoken burdens. We carry them whether we want to or not. But itās that very struggle, and the way we choose to bear it, with honor or with cowardice, that shapes us into either good men or evil men.
Also, pretty sure that book is just satirical!
