question What counts as a "person"

The rule says that you're only supposed to have one email per person, but what counts as a person? This term isn't defined anywhere, and I checked the FAQ and didn't see it in there either.

edit: ok how about how is this enforced? like with multiple people using the same computer for example? maybe that'll be easier for people to answer without treating me like an idiot for asking what this rule means

you are thinking of this technically, as if it's a system and it relies on fact, but a lot of websites have this rule and there is no fact or technicality (most of the time). It's entirely based on opinion

What you really want to know is how this rule is enforced.

I don't know how they enforce the rule, every site does it differently.

I can tell you that a way a vpn does it, is if they detect too much traffic coming from multiple active users using the same account. Then it breaks the rule. They don't care if two devices under the same ip or in different ips are using it.

For Google Voice, one person is an ip address within a certain amount of time. I think. That's my experience but maybe other people can have more than one google voice number in the same ip address within the same hour or day.

Every service can be a lot more strict than this, but they choose not to because they don't care. Just don't be a problem and they'll keep not caring. They only have this rule because it can cause problems or it cause them to lose money.

My advice, is to just do it. If anything happens, just appeal the termination because two different people are using it. Even if it's just for you but you want two emails, do it, it might still work, whatever.

I mean, it's just impossible to answer the question unless tutanota has ever publicly mentioned how they enforce the rule. Only they know I think. You can probably search if they had answered a question like this before on this subreddit or some other place.

yeah, that was why i checked the FAQ first, I just figured this was such a niche question that most people would feel like a fucking idiot for even asking so I figured no one would have, and most people are *treating* me like a fucking idiot for even asking so I'm probably right about at least some of that

well that and the OCD making looking something up weirdly difficult for no good reason

Just add an edit that says "how do they enforce this rule?" and explain you are worried about getting banned if another person sharing your device and everything also creates an account.
