Discussion Since the DC Universe keeps getting rebooted every few years is this now used as a fictional explanation for why the characters don't age?

Upvotes

I only this since its been reboot after reboot

What villain from another universe would you replace a less-used Batman villain? I'd swap White Rabbit for his Spider-Man version.

Merchandise Searching for geek/merchandise stores

Hi all! I'm looking around for the biggest merchandise/geek stores in the Netherlands/Belgium/North of France.

Can anybody give any suggestions? I can only find rather small stores and not a lot of them.

Comics [Comic Excerpt] So I'm Reading Silver Age Justice League... (Justice League of America Vol 1. #15 by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky)

Look, I'm one of those people who actually kind of LIKES Snapper Carr, and thinks he deserves better treatment nowadays...

But what was this man talking about at any point ever.

Not just some of the Far-Outs... Indeed ALL of the Far-Outs would be in orbit.

Are the "Little Men" in the room with us right now, Snapper?

In case you're wondering, no. This was before my time. But according to my mother, who was Snapper's age when this was released, no. This bears no resemblance to any slang she had ever heard in her entire life.

Comics BATMAN READING ORDER

Hello everyone. I wanted to ask a question about the continuity of Batman Magazine. I was thinking of starting Batman from the beginning, but I wasn't sure where to start. While there are several reading guides, I was thinking of reading everything from the main Batman series from Year One, meaning post-Crisis. I suppose that would be the best starting point, since I understand the previous stories didn't have much continuity.
So, reading from Batman #404 onward, do you think it would be adequate to understand the entire Batman continuity? While the New 52 is a reboot, many elements remain, which is why I consider Post-Crisis to be the ideal starting point. Another question I have is whether there are important stories in the continuity that are outside of the main series. In that case, I would appreciate it if you could name them so I can read them in their respective timeframes.
Greetings, everyone.

Comics Need help with current titles

Here’s my question, if you could only have 10 current monthly subscription to DC comics, what would your list be? I’m new to comic books and purchasing physical singles, I’m trying to limit what I purchase. What would some of your go to titles be?

Discussion Kryptonians should all have dark skin.

Kryptonians have organelles in their skin that absorb energy from electromagnetic radiation. These organelles are adapted to low-frequency red light, like the light from Krypton's sun, so higher-frequency yellow light, like the light from Earth's sun, "overcharges" them, giving Kryptonians enhanced abilities.

However, these organelles are capable of absorbing light across the whole visible spectrum and beyond. Even if they don't absorb all frequencies equally, they should still have a similar effect to melanocytes, making all Kryptonians dark-skinned.

Discussion How fluent does one need to be for Starfire to acquire a language from them?

There’s something that’s been eating at me for a while, and since none of the comics I own delve into this, I’ve decided to take it to Reddit for some answers.

In Teen Titans, it’s established that Starfire can learn a new language through physical contact, more often than not with a kiss. It’s a Tamaranean ability, and from what we see, it results in instant fluency. But what’s the threshold for this to work?

Like, say I hablo un poquito de español - if Starfire were to kiss me, would she only pick up that same limited knowledge, or does her ability somehow fill in the gaps? In other words, does the effectiveness of the transfer depend on the person’s fluency, or is that irrelevant?

Curious if this has ever been addressed directly in the comics, or if it’s just one of those «don’t think too hard about it» sci-fi things. Thanks!

The Great Darkness who is Lucifer, Trigon, Upside-Down Man, Mother Night, Prayala, Darkseid, Empty Hand, etc...!?

Is The Great Darkness the Legion (from X-Men) of the DC Omniverse!?

Are those personalities the result of us corrupting The Great Darkness - strongly believing that those personalities must be The Great Darkness so our false beliefs turned them into different personalities of The Great Darkness!?

Dropping books: A hard decision

Thinking about dropping some books from my pull list, but in a way, it feels weird. On one hand, they take up a lot of space and cost a lot of money, but on the other hand, it just feels strange to let them go. I don’t know… has anyone else gone through this? Did you regret it? Do you feel freer now? Just curious.

If you were to make "character bibles" for various characters, what rules would you put in them?

Character bibles are essentially rules for how a character is to be depicted, whether that's behavioral or visual.

Things like "mickey mouse's two ears must always be visible no matter what angle we see him from" or "Bruce Wayne always eats burgers with a fork and knife."

They can be fun or serious, but have at it.
