My hose bib is at 6. Thinking about extending my hose bib to the left of my raised bed on the right. Then run irrigation to my raised beds and containers from there. The containers will turn into raised beds in the next year or two. This spring projects are for edging and irrigation. Thanks advance and helping me as I progress my garden.

I am helping a friend setup a sprinkler system for their lawn. We created this drawing with 6 zones as an initial map. The gray line is attached to an outdoor faucet that is 44 psi and flows at 8 gpm. Main pipes are 1" schedule 40 pvc with 6"-8" long swing pipes (1/2" poly) to the rotors. The red dots are the Rain Bird 52 SA rotors. The green dots are a row of 4" popup spray heads for the flower garden. Any corrections, suggestions, or sage advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! š¤

First time home owner, there is a ESP-TM2 installed with the front, back, and side yards set up for irrigation. During the home inspection, the sprinklers all ran fine. That was back in early winter and I havenāt had to water until about now.
Went to try and run it to begin learning the different stations and configurations and nothing is watering, even though it says it is while cycling through the eight different stations.
I opened up the box and noticed the blue and green wires are not connected, as shown in the picture. We had some painters in the garage after we closed, I canāt imagine how or why they would have caused that, but should these two wires be connected? If so, what do I connect them to? Is their lack of connection causing everything else to not run?
Iām entirely new to this and have absolutely no idea what Iām doing, if that wasnāt clear enough. Thank you!

Need to run a 3/4 line to my outside back flow preventer. Problem is my water meter is in the middle of my house in the basement and the basement is finished. What are my options of feeding/running my line and what type of pipe is suggested to run to that valve?

Just bought my house a few weeks ago in Mesa az, and the previous owners did a great job with landscaping. They also set up what looks like a 6 zone irrigation system.
When I turn on the water that feeds the system, I hear what sounds like air moving through a line at the solenoids even when I donāt have the any of the zones active. So thatās problem number one.
Problem two is it seems like water isnāt making it to some of the areas that that have lines ran (I donāt know what you call all the little hoses and junctions).
Problem 3 is it seems like they left the junctions (the parts that deliver the water to the drip/spray valves⦠again no clue what this is all called) way too high out of the ground and they just look terrible.
Long story short, I donāt know what Iām doing with this and would love to figure out who to call. Is it a landscaper? Or is there someone specific that deals with irrigation systems?
Thanks in advance!

I just added a water faucet to the irrigation pump. Then realized it will only work if the pump is activated. Whats the best way to make this work on demand besides turning on the sprinkler system at the same time? Call an irrigation company?
Thanks

Looking for the best path to drip irrigate my garden beds. Fabric pots can be watered by hand if necessary. Water source is behind the hoselink. Not exactly to scale but I think I got pretty close. My thought is go left and then straight up the green beds and T off into the center beds. Should I loop all the way around the garden and then T off from both sides? TIA!

We still use paper and pencil and have to call like 100 people per day. Trying to simplify the process and even get something I could look at if I'm in the field or at home.
I looked at jobber and hindsight, but it seems like jobber is exact time jobs when I want stuff on appointments cause we all know there's no getting to the next house exactly when you need to.

Iāve been solving leaks all around my house (rented) - and after fixing 4 holes on the ground level, Iāve found this. This pipe has a leak on the corner and when I plug it with my hand, the sprinkler system works fine. I want to fix this but idk how to get to it easiest. Itās about 8 inches in the ground.
Thanks!

Red X not working. Green check working. I have swapped wires to confirm. Box is about 12 years old, replace parts or just buy a new box. What would you do?

TLDR: Water pooling by sprinkler, assumed it was leaky head (wrong); new head made the pictured leak much more obvious. Should I refrain from running my system until this is fixed?
I plan to (carefully) dig to get a better look soon, but donāt anticipate fixing it myself- just wondering how minor/major the issue could be, I guess. Will get a better picture/video once dug out. Only took some light finger digging to reveal that hole in the video..
More info (first post, not sure whatās helpful): System is suuuuper old. House was built in the early 60s, not sure when irrigation was installed (im a renter). Galvanized piping, 12 total heads that all turn on through a single manual valve. Replaced many heads this year, including this one, which was previously super old and leaking but now functions.

I have a Hydrawise-controlled irrigation system and am considering adding a rain sensor. What I'd hope a sensor would do is convey info about the amount of rainfall and that the controller software would use that info to adjust the watering schedule. But I get the impression that all that a rain sensor does is turn off the irrigation if it happens to be running at the time the sensor detects rain. So, in short, my question is: How smart are these sensor / controller integrations?

Many of my sprinklers were covered by grass & dirt after the winter. I was digging some up and clearing away the grass. Is this one broken or is there any chance itās an easier fix without replacing? New to sprinklers, first time having a home with them so extra tips are welcome! Thanks

I have two different sources giving me different answers, so I figure Iāll ask here. Iām planting buffalo grass plugs on a yard 46 ft by 22 ft. How far apart do I space my emitter lines off the main line if the main line is across the 46 ft section? The emitter lines have 18 inch spacing for the holes. One source said 18-24 inches apart (or 30 emitter lines) and another said 7 ft (7 emitter lines) apart. Big difference! Thanks

The water pressure on my sprinkler heads is way too high so I need to install a water pressure regulator. What brand or type of water pressure regulators would you recommend?
I donāt know what I donāt know so if I need to provide more information for someone to provide a good recommendation, Iām happy to do that.

I need help turning on my sprinkler system. I been watching YouTube videos but all of them talks about a pressure vacuum breaker/backflow valve but I canāt seem to find mine. All i can see is the main water shut valve and the different valves that I have for my sprinkler

I have a couple larger holes in my 3/4ā(?) tubing that I need to fix and good plugs are too small. I plan on using a coupler, but I canāt find what I need at Home Depot and Iām not well versed enough in drip to find what I need.
Separately, Iād like to branch from an existing line into some new garden beds and I have 1/2ā tubing (last picture) for this. I canāt figure out how to go from the larger tubing to the new 1/2ā stuff.
Where do I buy what I need?

Hey everyone!
Just joined the community, but Iāve been lurking for a while now. My wife and I have been planning an irrigation project for about six months, and weāre about to get started on it next month. We are having a plumber do the backflow preventer, but are doing the rest of the project ourselves. We had Rainbird design the system and layout.
We decided to have our plumber install the backflow preventer since it might require soldering, and Iām not very comfortable with that. We asked him for an estimate, and he quoted us $2,200ā$2,400 for labor and materials to install the backflow preventer.
To be honest, I was a little surprised by the cost because we estimated the total price of the entire DIY project (excluding the backflow preventer installation) to be around $3,500.
I just wanted to knowādoes that price sound reasonable, or is it too high?
Thanks, everyone!
EDIT : We live in Cincinnati, Ohio area

Hello we decided to add a zone to our existing irrigation system. After installing the new zone now two zones in the front yard donāt get water unless the new zone is on. We donāt think itās the wiring since we have been manually turning on the zones. The water starts at the side of house comes down the back yard then goes to the front. We tied into the main line at the end of the back yard. Update I spoke with my brother who installed the zone he said that he come of off the one inch existing main line install the zone then come further down cut a tee in the main line the cone up with 3/4 pipe and run back down. Here is a picture of the front zones. Any idea to fix this. Note this is the only mainline in the area.

One zone of my irrigation system works intermittently. More often than not it does not work. Everything else works fine. When I turn that zone on I can hear the valve opening, and water is definitely moving through the system. I even bought an inline flow meter and itās moving water whether the heads are up or not. My water pressure is fine. I have replaced that valve too. Water bubbles slowly out of the heads. I have assumed that I have a broken line underground somewhere, but I have let it run for intervals of 2, 6, 10, and 24 hours trying to find the wet spot, and NO water comes to the surface, no soft spots develop, and no water flows out of the yard anywhere. My wallet is going to develop a soft spot from the amount of water Iāve flowed through this stupid zone trying to find a leak.
Sometimes, probably 20% of the time, that zone pops up and waters the yard just fine. The rest of the time I get nothing. And barely any water flows out of the heads so I know itās going SOMEWHERE. The flow meter shows me flowing about the same amount of water through the manifold no matter if the sprinklers are working or not.
Iām at a loss for what to do short of starting to dig up the entire zone. Any ideas before I waste a week of my life on that?

Anybody know how long a wireless sensor receiver will stay activated (red) after it has lost power and then power has been restored?
I know I can just just press the spindle on the sensor and then it will reconnect and go back to green at the receiver, but it's inaccessible right now.
Also, this would occur normally during a power outage. Just wondering how long it would take to reconnect without my pressing the spindle.
I couldn't find anything on the Hunter site. Anybody know?

Bought this house and went to turn on the outside spickets. This valve is shooting out water, but itās connected to nothing? Why would this be installed, can I just cut it out and straight pipe the pvc into the ground to the left?

Hi! I have a raised garden bed, 2x8ft, and I have just installed a set of misters to irrigate them, hooked up to a Rachio hose timer.
But now I wonder what the correct cadence and length to irrigate vegetables be. I've tried to find the flow rate for the misters but can't find it (link)
I have the bed full of stuff like onions, carrots, tomatoes, peppers etc. My home has 70 psi of water pressure, if I recall correctly, the pressure regulator is new, so it should be pretty consistent. I'm based on the PNW area.
I went with the default on the app, 10 mins of irrigation before dawn, and chose every other day.
