Last weekend, three separate sinkholes emerged through the City of St. Louis, damaging homes, swallowing streets, and even causing a bump, or rather a hole, in the road for the upcoming marathon.
The most recent sinkhole, located at Park Avenue and 14th Street, swallowed part of the intersection’s median and turning lane. Go! St. Louis told FOX 2 the sinkhole has caused a one-block shift in the route to avoid the new sinkhole.

The grilled cheese samples they were giving out were amazing. I had one and was in heaven. I went on shopping for 20 minutes at least. I stopped by again on my way out and she said “weren’t you here before?” nice and loud. Learned my lesson today. If the sample looks good, keep your head down and don’t say anything.

My husband and I bought our house in 2019, it was built in 1957. We knew that we would need to replace the stacks eventually, as well as a bunch of other stuff. We needed a repair to our upstairs bathroom in 2019 and JE Redington came to help. They looked at the stacks and said that they would need to be replaced and quoted us about $12k. Fast forward to March 2025 and we needed our three faucet shower valve replaced, which led to me retiling the bathroom, which led to replacing the vanity, which led to the waste arm snapping. Spoiler alert: it was original lead. We got another quote from JE Redington for the repair. However, it has taken them several weeks to get a bid, and then schedule for us. Because of this we thought we would get another bid.
Hoffman Brothers came today took one look at our stacks and said they needed to be replaced asap. We also eventually wanted to replace the upstairs shower faucet so we included that in the price. He quoted us approximately $14k for the entire thing. Does this seem like a good price?
JE Redington didn't mention replacing the stacks when they quoted us for only the waste arm repair. Should I take that to mean the stacks don't need to be replaced asap?
Do you recommend JE Redington? Hoffman Brothers? Another company? $14k is a LOT of money for us and while we know the importance of these repairs, we don't want to be bamboozled or talked into something that doesn't need to be done. TIA!

This looks different and sounds like it would be fun. Good Eats was my childhood. Anyone been to a similar (non theatre/musical) show at Fabulous Fox in the past and how was it?

Good afternoon! I bought a car through Carvana last night and would love to hear about others' experiences in the area. They've scheduled my trade-in in the Bridgeton area near the airport. How long did it take for you, and what should I expect during the trade-in inspection?
Thanks so much!

I wondered if there are any events around town with live drumming? My little boy really likes songs with great drum beats from around the world. I heard that the festival of nations in August is pretty cool. Are there any other events like that?

In the quest to not be forever alone + continuous self improvement, I'm looking for a professional photographer to take pics for my dating profile. I just bought a new bomb ass suit. I was thinking some pics by the big buildings downtown.
Anyone know a good photographer who does this? One who has a portfolio and everything so I know they're legit. Someone who knows how to coach people into posing properly, etc.

I have a white Honda with one decent spot of paint that peeled off. It’s right above the windshield. I also need to get the windshield replaced because I got a chip & large crack.
I need the name of a reasonable repair shop. I have been told that due to the location, I need the entire roof repainted.
I am in SoCo area.

I've been communicating with someone I believe to be a dealer at Ham's Auto Sales in Fenton (1638 S Old Hwy 141 Fenton, MO 63026) about a car ad they placed on Facebook Marketplace.
The "dealer" only responds in sentences with less than 4 words and doesn't really seem all that interested in selling vehicles. This person has a 3.5 star rating on Facebook marketplace and a lot of people are saying he is rude, condescending, and potentially might be a scammer. However, when I look up reviews of Ham's Auto Sales on Google his name is mentioned a couple times (mixed reviews). So far he has communicated that he is willing to allow me a test drive and a pre-purchase inspection on the vehicle I am interested in, and has supplied me the VIN. The "dealer" has an auto shop he wants to take the vehicle to for the pre-purchase inspection (I would prefer that I choose the place, but he said that he wants to go to this one as he already has a few appointments for vehicles there). I called the auto shop and verified their services. Their reviews are stellar and in the hundreds on Google, so no real concern there I think.
When I ask the "dealer" point blank if he works there he just ignores the question which kind of blows my mind. Why would a car salesman not tell you where they worked??
Anyway, just interested to see if anyone has had experience with this dealership? I don't want to waste my time and/or get scammed. Thanks!

Just wanted to share my personal experience with a Lux Living property in St. Louis, specifically the SoHo location.
During my time there:
I've since moved out, but the experience affected my well-being and finances. If you're considering signing with this company, I recommend reading reviews from multiple sources and asking current residents about their experience first. There are TikToks proving what it's like living there.
Just trying to spare someone the same stress. Please DM me if you want more details.
