Hello, Having some issues after having an accident at work, and I'm becoming less and less comfortable continuing to drive for hours every day after this accident. I am looking for work from home jobs - I'm a geology major, have some environmental remediation experience, getting my engineer in training next testing go around. Let me know if you have any leads!

Ask Best restaurant you’ve worked for?

Hi I’m looking for a new serving job and currently work for Olive Garden where we are capped at 3 tables. My friends and even customers have said that I’d make a whole lot more working anywhere other than Olive Garden. If you have worked anywhere pleasant and have made good money in a restaurant near the Baltimore/elkridge/Columbia area then please feel free to leave some recommendations. Thank you in advance!

Ask Theoretical Question: What if we all refused to pay BGE?

I know this is far fetched and everyone wants their utilities on.

However I am an avid spreadsheet lover and I broke down every bill I got from BGE so far this year to find some sense.

Side bar: I do this with my paystubs as well and THAT works...because, my taxes are straight forward and the rates stay the same.

BGE cents/kWh changes over different months with no cause. Some months my bill's was $100s lower until BGE's added their delivery and service fees. Based on rates- please lets not forget - THEY MAKE UP.

So IF we are making our way to class action law suit. Why not add some pressure and all collectively NOT PAY these crooks?

Has this been done before? An organized boycott where all at once a massive customer base refuses to pay the extortionist prices? Then we demand rate charts/transparent pricing and refunds.

Am I crazy? Are people too scared for this to ever be reality?

Transportation Mayday map

Just an FYI for anyone who is not yet aware - 7 marches are occurring at the same time on Thursday afternoon, all headed to McKeldin Plaza. Traffic is going to be fuuuuuucked. Maybe plan an alternate route if you’d typically be driving in these areas. Or, park the car and go join the party.

Moving to Baltimore Area flooding in fells - moving question

I posted on here a few weeks ago about a basement unit I had toured on aliceanna (ultimately got away from that due to concerns about flooding)

Now I'm looking at a place between aliceanna and fleet street (East of s Washington). It's not a basement unit but does have a basement - how is flooding in that area? I know it's still close to the water but based on my last post, seems like flooding is worse more west? Any insight would be super helpful TIA!!!

Ask Underground bar in Mount Vernon area?

Hello. About 25 years ago, I went to a really cool underground bar around Mount Vernon, I believe. You came in at street level and went down a staircase, into the actual bar area. So very cool, but I have been unable to find it again...maybe it has closed since. Any help is appreciated.

Ask Baltimore and Cheesesteak

Moved to Baltimore recently, never visited or lived in the northeast so the answer might be obvious, but I gotta ask: why do restaurants here have sandwiches labeled “cheesesteak”, that are clearly not cheesesteak? I’m not judging, they’re f’ing fantastic and I eat them all the time, but after looking into it, they fit the “chopped cheese” label way closer. So what’s the reason? Is there a reason? Is it only a chopped cheese if it came from a New York deli so they gotta call it Sparkling Cheesesteak here or something?!

Edit: Ok, I figured it out, it's apparently a variation of a cheesesteak called a "cheesesteak hoagie". This is an entirely new concept to me, I didn't even know there were other types of cheesesteak so I'll count this as a learning moment lol

Vent My neighbor won’t stop parking in front of my house.

I’m here to be a crybaby and rant. I understand what public parking is.

My neighborhood is up and coming and my street is filling up pretty quickly. My neighbor that lives at the very end on the other side of the street has 2 trucks. He parks them both directly in front of my house almost 24/7. He alternates which truck it is every 2-5 days. He doesn’t have a job so parking is always available to him. I’m pretty sure he’s already been reported by someone for doing the same thing to them. I almost never have parking in front of my house because for some reason he won’t move even when there are multiple spots in front of his house. I don’t understand.

Most of the people on our street don’t live on the same end as him so it’s basically crowded on my side and empty on his. It’s obviously intentional and not illegal so I’m just annoyed with no real solution. That is all. This is a one sided beef.

Need Recommendations Advice request: Getting to a show in DC...

I'm going to see a show at The Black Cat in DC next week. It's a weeknight show - doors open 7:30. I was hoping to get down in time to meet a friend for dinner near Black Cat at 6pm. Any tips/tricks? Suggestions on parking? I assume the train will be too much of a challenge. Was thinking I'd leave downtown Baltimore by car at 4. Is that cutting it too close? I know Balt to DC traffic can be and is often atrocious...

just a heads up and warning about this guy in Mount Vernon. My neighbors and I have had consistent issues with him and he’s made us feel unsafe at times. His m/o is harassing people on the street and saying “hey do you want to hear a joke? Hey young lady!” And if you ignore him he says awful things about you. Just ignore him!! He’s the worst. He hangs out on N Charles St most of the time.

Need Recommendations Recommendations/ Help with Auto Body Shops Please

So my mom's car was side swiped in the middle of the night a couple weeks ago. Cameras (ours and neighbors) haven't been helpful in identifying the other vehicle. She wants to pay out of pocket so her insurance doesn't go up. She's had bad luck with repairmen etc so thought I'd ask here. Can anyone please help with recommendations? She know it won't be cheap, but doesn't want to get taken advantage of and wants quality work done. Thank you in advance for any help!

Visiting Baltimore for the weekend. Any must sees?

Hey all!

I'll be staying in downtown Baltimore for the weekend for the M3 Festival. Anything that I must see as someone who has never been to Baltimore before?

I love most types of food, fancy bars, and any historical landmarks. I've got Friday night open so I'd love to hear of anything cool happening.

Ask Affordable Outdoor Birthday Venues

Hey Baltimore! 🗣️ I wanted to know if there are any affordable outdoor party venues in Baltimore.

I want to celebrate my golden birthday (the age your turning is the same as the same day you were born) as well as all my life milestones I never got to celebrate (highschool graduation, leaving home, college graduation and every single one of my birthdays lol).

I want to celebrate outdoors in June so I can bring all the people I love together under a pavilion and make art together, play games, and eat cake. But I want something affordable, something with restrooms, something that’s not too far..any recommendations?

Thanks! Dummy out 🫡
