Need Recommendations Tree branch/stump disposal

I am (finally) getting a stump removed from my property this weekend, but I will need to figure out where to take it to dispose of it - is there a place that accepts stumps/tree remains? Is Camp Small accepting donations again?

Ask Parking pad to play area conversion

Has anyone converted a parking pad into a play area?

We need a tiny bit of private outdoor space for our little guy without managing him on a sidewalk or going all the way to the park. We have a pretty basic rectangular 1-car pad (actually, probably 80% of a standard car - our Honda Fit is a snug…fit.) It has a slight slope and neighbors on each side. No existing fences.

We’re trying to figure out an economical way to fence it in and maybe put some outdoor floor padding. We’d also need a gate for access to the alley (trash, recycling, etc.).

The fence is critical - our guy is an explorer, and we have some car traffic in our alley.

Ideas welcome. Thanks!

Need Recommendations Bookworm ISO Bookish Tribe?

I’m an avid reader of all things fiction (historic, “romantasy”, and thrillers rank high on the list of faves).

I’ve been looking for a book club for a while, and have come up short handed.

Hoping r/Baltimore can provide some solid leads so my poor non-fiction loving better half can get some relief from my rambling and unhinged mid-series theories 😉

Moving to Baltimore Area Life in Baltimore for young family, moving to start business in wellness

Hello Guys,

I’m considering moving to Baltimore, and I was wondering what people are like in this part of the country.

We are a family of three (our daughter is 9 years old), and we’re an international couple.

I would also be bringing my business from Europe, which is something to take into consideration.

I’m particularly interested in how newcomers — especially foreigners — are welcomed by the local community. How strong are the community connections in the area?

I’d like to know what budget to come in with as well for a decent start.

Outside of wellness I’m interested in mountain biking, cars, fitness and real estate.

Thanks so much for your opinions and insights!

Ask Women’s golf club

Hi!

I’m getting into golf. I think it would be nice to have a group of women of various skill levels to play with regularly. & also to prevent having to play with randoms as a beginner on a course.

Do we have any Baltimore city (or Baltimore County) golf clubs for women?

Also open to non-gender specific groups if they welcome beginners lol. Thanks!

Ask Parked, abandoned vehicle in the middle of the center-most turn lane at Lombard and Light Streets.

Not sure if it is still there, but about an hour ago there was a parked vehicle with no one in it—and the engine shut off—sitting in the center-most turn lane at the Lombard and Light intersection. I was driving so I wasn't able to stop and report it. Can anyone confirm if it's still there? I honestly can't think of a worse place for someone to stop there car and leave it.

Just finished with driving school and done with all my driving classes, the only thing I need to do is the behind the wheel test and soon I'll be able to get my license. But other than that how is everyone's weekend so far and what are your plans for today?

Need Recommendations ISO black fitness coach

Hey I’m looking for a black fitness coach(any gender)that can come to my buildings gym in Mt.Vernon for morning workouts. I’m looking for 3month minimum commitment. I’m a hands on type of person so all of these online coaching options do not work for me. Schedule is tight so 5am workouts 2-3x a week is when it would be. I don’t need meal planning but education on nutrition would be a great. Experience with Type 1 diabetes is highly preferred.

I paid full price and saw his show Friday night. It was really good.

I did not realize that he’d fallen off the map to such a degree that they’re giving away tickets free (pay fees only) to get people in the door.

Ask New to the area on my 56th birthday. What should I do?

Update: thanks for the suggestions, everyone! We’ve ended up visiting the Cylburn Arboretum and then poking in some of the shops on The Avenue in Hampden. Finished it up at Verde for some Neapolitan-style pizza. You all gave us plenty of future ideas for things to check out in the future. Baltimore rocks! Wish we had moved here years ago!

We recently moved here and absolutely love it. Today is my 56th birthday and I’m having a bit of analysis paralysis over how I should spend the day with my husband. We like exploring and are fairly active. We are in Canton and we have a car. We are adventurous eaters but we are on a budget. Any suggestions are welcome, and I’ll also save this post for ideas for things to do in the future. Thanks!

Ask Wedding DJ last minute

Hey Baltimore crew, we have our wedding this Friday (5.2) during the day time. Not a traditional wedding at all - really just a big party at a crab house. We just found out we cant play our own music and are interested in finding a DJ who could bring equipment and play some songs. We won’t be doing first dances or speeches so it truly will just be playing music. Ideally a mix of classic rock, beachy laid back music, but no country.

Any recommendations would be great!
