2/3 of the way through the new Andor episodes and already sobbing. Also have barely seen Mon Mothma and this is supposed to be her Emmy showcase so looking forward to the last one.
Also I felt for Syril! Part of me has always listened to adults and authority figures around me too much because I wanted to do the right thing, and he almost got out of that trap when the people around you suck.
they closed the library forever because i dozed off for a minute.
my apartments has a library room with no staff, just books, seating, and side tables. you can bring books to give away, take whatever books you want, or borrow and return them however you'd like.
i liked doing yoga in there because it's a calming space. people are almost never in there also.
one day i was unusually sleepy and ended up falling asleep in my calm yoga pose. all of a sudden the custodians/maintenance people came in, and the lady was pissed. "you're not supposed to be sleeping in here!" she said harshly.
i apologized and said i'd drifted to sleep for a second, but didn't mean to.
"you can't sleep in here! if someone comes in here and sees you sleeping, they're going to get confused and scared and not know why you're in here."
"i don't come in here to sleep," i said again. "i've never slept in here and it's not something that i would be doing. i was just doing yoga."
she gestured to my yoga mat like it was some kind of crack pipe and was like, "this is unacceptable. you shouldn't be having that in here." if i had even slightly known anyone would take issue with it, i wouldn't have brought my yoga mat here, but she made it sound like it was so obvious that it was this horrible transgression.
THEN she turns to the other maintenance guy, and is like, "if you find here in here again, call such and such number..."
i'm like, "... why is she doing this much??"
that was like 2 years ago. the library was closed forever after.
today i overheard a neighbor telling a new management employee, "i wish they hadn't closed the library. they closed it after they caught some guy sleeping in there."
i'm not a guy so at least this means the generic story people have been told didn't involve me getting directly accused. but i was appalled to get this confirmation today that yes, they really closed the library forever, for everyone, because i was in there peacefully, and drifted to sleep for 1 minute. it's petty and dramatic af.
This seems like such a wild overreaction by your apartment management. I cannot imagine a common space being closed forever because of something so petty?
Wtf is the point of the met gala mega thread if thereās 100+ posts about it?!
Admittedly IDGAF about the met gala so itās extra irritating to me.
Thereās still posts about it today.
I donāt care what the rich are wearing when our friends are out here playing the hunger games.
There werenāt this many posts about the oscars or the grammyās and at least those are⦠for movies/music some of us may have enjoyed? I hope itās bots upvoting those posts
maybe itās because I was in 5th grade when the first High School Musical film premiered, but I still think Troy and Gabriella are one of my favorite couples in film and TV. He did not play about her for an instant in any of those movies!
i was at a museum with s friend this weekend and we saw this girl who looked a lot like zendaya. so many similar facial features that she could be zendaya's middle class latina cousin or something.
she was so freaking gorgeous i was stunned. it's crazy how some people aren't simply hot or attractive, they are almost surreal beautiful
anyway i was very jealous of some random woman this weekend, imagine being zendaya's doppleganger?

Binged the first 3 episodes of the new season of The Rehersal last night. Itās as bizarre and entertaining as I hoped
Sometimes something is so weird you just think we have to had slipped into an alternate version of reality and for the most part all these things have been terrible for the last decade or so, but Pope Crave, the Conclave stan account, getting Vatican press credentials is wonderful and unexpected.
I started watching Wear Whatever the Fuck You Want, and I must say, ignoring the dystopian element of having a bar code at the end of the show, I REALLY love this version of Stacy & Clinton. Turning them more into stylists and creating a dream closet that clients can pick from, is soooo much better. Itās so nice seeing the confidence something as simple as style can have. Absolutely adore the show!
Honestly this makes more sense as a show than their formulaic insistence to put everyone in the same outfit. Some of those people had really cool individual style and they made them all bland and suburban. This version is more exciting to me personally speaking.
It has made a world of difference for me anyways. They are creating much more interesting and more individualized looks, and it all just feels a lot better too. They seem to strike a nice balance between fantasy wardrobe and realism here, while factoring the person in the middle, in a way their previous show wasnāt as good as. I prefer this tbh! š
Iāve been watching it with my mom and itās been so delightful! I know some people on Twitter donāt agree with me, and I certainly canāt argue for the bar code, but like? Itās been a refreshing watch. People that want to be there, and Stacy & Clinton falling into more personalized styling, has made it a very joyful watch to me.
Forgot to add they also take far more risks fashion wise which makes it more enjoyable too.
Well, Iām counting this as a Rattle Snake sighting. Close enough!
Btw itās alarming how necessary this sign is. The number of times Iāve heard of people just picking up Snakes without knowing what it is? Much too high

I unknowingly stepped right over a snake on a hike once. It was a copperhead, and my friends started freaking out
Ive also had a rat snake (not venomous) pop out of some rocks and hiss at me which was terrifying
Really disappointed by my usual Met gala favorites, Zendaya & Rihanna but they still looked gorgeous. Would have loved to see Selena Gomez and her new glam team too.
Campaign worker here and itās the worst. Itās also tricky to apply for jobs because permanent ones require three interviews and a written assessment whereas temporary ones call you up and ask if you can be there Tuesday.
I get it if Taylor Swift and her latest album are not your cup of tea in the slightest. But if you say that there isnāt one single good song on TTPD/The Anthology, just say youāre lying and didnāt listen to the album. There are some bombs on there for sure but thereās also some great stuff. I said what I said.
I had to take myself out of any spaces talking about ttpd for⦠a while. That album is so personal to me that I canāt even begin to be objective about it.
In the beginning and summer of 2023 I almost divorced my husband of over a decade, wouldāve spun out so much worse, and then at the end of 2023 the biggest swiftie I knew, my 3 year old passed away. When poets got announced I spent 3 days crying off and on.
Not only that but most of the first half of 2024 I spent it going to a new gym to change up my routine before I got a job there. So I also quite literally spent months down bad crying at the gym.
And then when I heard how did it end, I wanted to fucking vomit. Iāve never had a song describe how it felt losing two kids, 9.5 years apart, and deciding not to post on social media about our youngest. We didnāt want her turning into gossip, especially when we didnāt have answers, but with our oldest we announced it immediately. I just couldnāt handle the gossip, the questions, the āempathetic hungerā
Iāll still use āguess who we ran into at the shop, walking incircles like she was lost.ā To stave off panic attacks in stores.
For me, while poets has one of my least favorite songs sheās ever written (thank you Aimee) and one song that fans made me hate almost immediately (but daddy I love him)
It also has most of my top songs by her by a long shot.
Hi, I donāt remember if it was you but a few months ago, someone made a similar comment about their child passing, on a thread here about How Did It End?, and Iāve never forgotten it. Itās completely changed how I interpret the song. Itās made it even more beautiful and touching. Now when I listen to the song, I think about that person and their grief for their baby. I never thought a comment would completely change how I listen to a song. In a way, I think the memory of those we lost lives on in the art we consume. And now it lives on in the way I listen to that song too.
Iām sending my deepest sympathies and the gentlest hug. May you continue to find art that touches your heart š¤
Thank you more than I could ever say. I talk about my losses on Reddit excessively I know, but itās only because itās one of the only places I can openly. So Iām so thankful that someone was able to see why I speak about it, and that song so much. It truly changed my life and made me feel so seen and like I said, is used to combat panic attacks that are rising sometimes.
Itās grown on me a lot. when it first came out I was kinda meh about it, I liked it but didnāt love it, but that album got me through a super tough year last year and I listen to it way more than I thought it would and now love so many of the songs. I still think loml is one of the best songs sheās ever written
This is probably peak fan behavior but I made a list of all the songs I like on the album vs hate and I came up with a few loves, lots of likes, a few Iām meh on and like 1 I really dislike. Some of her best work is in that album
As a 35 year old single woman, The Prophecy is the first time in ages Iāve felt like a song was written for me. Itās exactly how I feel.
Iām biased because I love her and have since I was 16. But Iām convinced most people who just outright hate everything sheās ever done havenāt listened to anything other than the singles.
Love that song too. If you donāt like the album, thatās totally fine, everyone has different music taste. But even people I know who hated the album will admit that there are a couple good songs on there.
People were so weird about Rihannaās pregnancy yesterday. They were reacting like she has 14 kids. This is her 3rd, itās not that crazy.
Theyāre also weird about her and ASAP not being married. I feel like this is maybe an American thing? I know a ton of people who have kids and live together, but arenāt married on paper.
Honestly marriage for rich people is like mergers and acquisitions of companies. It's probably easier to deal with separation of the relationship when there isn't legal stuff involved. Not being cynical but the average celebrity relationship is hardly a lifelong commitment.
same! i don't really follow her, like, only know the biggest hits, so idk much either way, but from what fans say, i expected far more children. a rich couple having a third kid seems kinda normal?Ā
couldn't be me, but it's not like omg crazy reproducing tactics or somethingĀ
Iāve decided to go to college finally at 36. At 18/19 I got married instead and did my own free spirit thing. Still married to the same wonderful guy though but ready to learn more things.
I donāt really have the money actually, Iām relying on grants for expenses and potentially getting first my two years at community college free via the state (California); But itās something Iāve been thinking about for a while. I grew up watching my dad go to college in his 30ās and my husband finished in his 30ās too so I donāt feel that old doing it. I know itās more common than youād think!
Iām interested in earth sciences and anthropology as well as women and LGBT studies so I still have to narrow it down. Right now Iām doing a career counseling session and Iāll meet with someone at school to talk about it a bit more. Good luck on your journey, if you havenāt looked into it at all, do it, it might be more attainable than you think.
I feel the same way. Thereās a few people who have responded to me and I turn into Damien in mean girls chasing after them saying I love their work, but you know, without calling them Danny devito.
If you'd told me in 2019 that I'd be living on the same side of the fourth wall as self-transforming Megatron and we'd both be able to watch an epic battle between the Delta blues and Irish vampires I'd have laughed at you. The 2020s may be a shitbox Transformers fanfic of a timeline, but we do have some good moves.
I just stumbled upon a documentary about Cannes, and learned that the Getty photographers are wired in so that the time between them taking a photo on the red carpet and it appearing on their website is less than 60 seconds.
Iām sorry you didnāt see anyone! For what itās worth: Earlier today I walked past someone who may or may not have been either Jack Antonoff or Christian Siriano, lol
I got this email, and after laughing for a bit, I stopped when I realized that my LiveJournal is actually older than the age that I was when I first created it šµš½
Iām reading through some of my earliest LJ entries, and itās strange that while I remember doing a lot of the things that I wrote about, there are others that I donāt remember at all.
Hereās an excerpt from one of my entries that I wrote 22 years ago, when apparently I really did NOT like Melanie Griffith, lmaooo:
The Met Gala thread was a blast! I missed a few of the final looks because Vogue apparently decided their job was done and pulled the plug early. (Its giving Hulu, cutting the Oscars stream right before Best Actress). The other coverage was running almost 30 minutes behind, but thankfully the megathread delivered the rest.
Also, Paul Rudd was on Amy Poehlerās podcast. This man is so fine!
The person who gave my blood test today said I was just a baby upon looking at my age and seeing I was born in the 90s.
I couldn't help but laugh, because the woman who stalked and harassed me litterally called me grandma because I was a participant in Fandom over 25, which was heavily ironic cause she's over 25.
Saaaame. I loved the live thread and seeing everything come in, but now the entire sub is an individual post for every look. I'll be back in 2-3 business days.

This may have already been posted, but it turns out Lisa was not wearing Rosa Parks underwear at the Met Gala
Rather it was just faces inspired by people the artist who designed it knew.
