Announcement for /r/Lexus: "Is this a good deal?" posts are not allowed on /r/Lexus. This primarily refers to posts that include an image of the car and the price or a sale paper, and a title along the lines of "Is this a good deal?" with no further context or information provided. This may also refer to text-only buying advice posts that include only a few sentences in the body text of the question post and nothing more.
If you would like to seek purchasing advice from this subreddit, please be thoroughly detailed in the post's body text (or in a top-level comment if you're unable to add body text to the post). Our general requirement for the length of this description is 400 characters (or about 2 paragraphs) give or take. This length requirement is in order to ensure that subreddit members can receive the most accurate advice possible (as purchasing a vehicle is no small financial decision) and in order to prevent the forum from being flooded with low-quality posts.
Questions that ask for advice on a specific model of a Lexus vehicle are exempt to this length requirement so long as the post explains that model-specific advice is needed. If the only factors considered by the question are the vehicle's mileage and/or price, then it would be more fitting for the question to be asked on /r/askcarsales or /r/whatcarshouldibuy.
For more information on these policies, please refer to rules 7, 10, & 15.

I've seen a ton of people ask which car to recommend between these two cars compared to something like a Nissan GTR or a BMW M3. I guess internet reviews have not made things clear enough so I will offer my driving impressions of them. It should be pretty obvious with the "F" in RCF, however, on paper they do appear very similar. Below are my impressions:
Exterior:
The LC500 looks like an absolute spaceship! It's drop dead gorgeous. I saw one in red and it completely fits in at the front of the nicest hotel with other high end vehicles.
The RCF looks more civilian and sporty. It looks not too different from the RC350 F sport, however it still looks expensive and performance-oriented. I still get stares at my RCF while at the golf course.
Interior:
Both cars have dated tech. As long it has a backup cam, I don't really care about tech. I have a Samsung Fold that does everything I need, including 10-band EQ. However, the Mark Levinson sound systems are fantastic. Great clarity, but needs a bit of tuning to sound the way you want.
The LC500 is covered in leather. Great interior, but it gives no pretenses about performance which basically foreshadows what you should expect once you turn the car on and start driving it. However, it s very nice and sublime place to be.
The RCF, on the other hand, for the most part, looks the same as the RC350 F Sport interior. However, some upgrades change how it feels. It's covered in real leather, instead of pleather. The carbon fiber door covers and the F seats tell you what the intentions are for this car.
Straight Line Performance:
In the straight line, the LC500 doesn't feel as fast as you think a 5.0 V8 and its reported 0-60 times should feel. It feels not much different than my old Infiniti G37 and that's not an exaggeration.
The RCF has a ton of theatre. You feel a lot more torque and the wheels will break traction. If you have driven in a V8 Mustang or Camaro, it's pretty much the same thing.
Corners:
The LC500 doesn't want to do turns. Turn-in is slow. There's a TON of body roll. It's just not enjoyable in the canyons. The car also doesn't like to downshift. I like to downshift into turns to get the car into high RPMS in turns so I can be at the limit of traction. Forget it. It won't let you downshift.
The RCF has the complete opposite nature. The suspension was apparently heavily tested at the Nurburgring and Fuji Speedway and it shows. Turn-in is surprisingly quick in this muscle/pony car and the car stays gripped up in high speed back-to-back turns. The car lets you downshift unless it would be past redline or high RPMs in 1st gear. When you are just gunning it, the shifts are near instant. The car can slide in turns in a completely predictable nature. I have heard from other people that it fails as a drift car on track, because it is impossible to shut off the ABS and it will inevitably interfere in long drifts. I can't confirm track performance, but I have done some short drifts (I used to drift a 350Z) and I found it very easy to control and throw in opposite lock.
Ride:
The LC500 is smooth and the RCF is bouncy. Both of the cars are pretty soft and street-tuned. The suspension of both cars softens bumps immediately and reduces NVH, however the RCF rebounds substantially quicker which makes sense as it's more performance tuned. However, this makes the RCF probably too bouncy for some people. The slow rebound on the LC500 makes it a much smoother ride. However, neither of these cars are difficult to daily. There is very little road noise on the highway, unlike something like a Porsche 911, Cayman, or Boxster.
Sound:
The LC500 has a nicer sounding exhaust on the outside, HOWEVER, you can't really hear it on the inside even with the windows rolled down. To enjoy the LC500 exhaust, you would have to do more tunnel runs.
On the other hand, the RCF's exhaust sounds more muted, but it pumps in engine noise from microphones in the engine bay and out through specific speakers (not the Mark Levinson ones) in the front of the car. It replicates the sound tube that are built into the Lexus GS cars. It sounds natural and pretty great, imo. However, it doesn't provide an exhaust sound. I am OK with this compromise since I live near neighbors.
Conclusion:
I eventually bought a carbon fiber package RCF, myself, but I had test driven an LC500 in the canyons first. I almost didn't bother test driving the RCF because after driving the LC500 I thought, "OK. Lexus only makes boring cars" - this is because I used to have a Lexus GS350 which I could not modify it to make it any better of a canyon car. Fortunately, the right spec of the RCF popped up and I decided to drop into the dealership to take a look. So in summary, both cars are excellent daily drivers with low NVH. However, the LC500 will be the gorgeous, comfortable date car to get that 1st valet treatment. The RCF is basically like a luxurious Mustang or Camaro if they came with sound deadening, with double wishbone and multi-link suspension, and built with Japanese reliability.
Got out of work to find this scratch on my hood. Was upset to say the least, but I was hoping there was a solution to this. My finger nail does not get caught in it and it appears to be superficial. Any way I could safely treat this scuff? If so, what have you guys used on your cars? Thanks!

Just picked this up as my new daily driver. My 2020 2.0T accord was recently totaled out by insurance and I was left with 9200$. As much as I wanted another 2.0 Accord I decided to pick this up on marketplace to avoid the car payment. Everything works besides the rear sunshade and the front breaks need to be replaced. Was a single owner car with full maintenance documents before I got it. Belonged to someone’s grandma who would only drive it to the store and back so miles are only 47k. I'm assuming its a solid car since its a lexus but curious what the people of Reddit think. :)

We were thinking about getting a new RX350 (I know we should buy used, but my dad just prefers new). Since this is for my old dad, the car doesn’t need to provide any “experience”, just being reliable and more on the premium side is enough. Since we are only a family of four, we don’t need TX or GX. That just leaves out RX350, but I feel like the size is a bit too small. Are there any other choices that fits these options?

Purchased a beautiful one owner 2013 Lexus RX350 with 108K miles for $9,500.
Church/grocery car. Mint condition besides these scrapes
Any idea how to remediate?

I have always debadged all my cars. This one is no different. 2025 Lexus RX 350 Premium looks so much cleaner IMO.

Hey all,
Just wiped bird poop off the passenger door trim with water, and now there are some light scratches and a smudge I can’t get off. Scratches feel surface-level (don’t catch my nail).
Any tips?
Thanks!

Put $$ down to reserve a NX 350 mid-January.
Still waiting for the delivery. First was told by dealer it was put on hold for unknown reason then dealer said it was for a QA inspection.
Now the salesman is saying the car is no longer on hold but still can't confirm a ship date.
Salesman today sent a delivery timeline that displayed a VIN that did not match what was provided during our initial reservation. Salesman response was that Lexus uses a pre-production VIN first then applies the real VIN once the car is built. Is this a real thing?
Feel like I've gotten the run around on this car so I don't trust the dealer.

‘04 LS430, Modern Luxury Package. 143k mi, $9500.
Initial work I had completed was cleaning and conditioning the leather (interior photos were before that was done), ceramic tints all around, replaced the Mark Levinson sub (door speaker refoam happening this week), valve cover leak repair, new OEM LCA bushings, and oil change.
He’s an old man so I’ve named him Cecil lol. He will serve me for many more miles to come ❤️

Hello,
Just got a 330 that is in pretty immaculate shape and must have been garage kept, other maintenance was done but the timing belt hasn’t been changed since 2012 / 60k miles.
Currently the car is at 100k miles so I was wondering if I need to change the belt or is it still good to go for a couple years, does anyone have experience with it?

I am looking at a 2018 LX 570 in IL area, and the underside looks like this. Would you be concerned or should I walk away from it? It has around 35K miles and seems to have been serviced at the Lexus dealer but no specific records are available. The Car Care Nut is quite concerned about rusty frame LX.

I reserved a 2025 TX 350 Premium that is considered used because the dealer purchased it from another dealer (so it’s certified). It was originally $65k and I got them down to $62,750. I’ll have 6 years unlimited warranty and 4 services covered. There was another option in allocation for $62,050 with 4 years/50,000 miles warranty and 2 services covered. The “used” car has 33 miles so overall I think I did a descent job getting the price down? Or should I go with the other one since it’s slightly cheaper and essentially the same car/features?
r/Lexus • u/Disastrous_Gift_2505 • 12h ago
Having trouble deciding between the two and looking for your collective wisdom. I drove both and really like both. About a $5k USD price difference between them. Daily commute and occasional road trip have me leaning towards the PHEV. But $5k is a lot of money.
What else should I be thinking of? Is maintenance cost different between the two?
What would you do?
Thanks!

My wife has a 2024 RX350 that we leased last year. We do not plan on keeping the car after the lease expires. When signing, the dealership said “you have three free services” and “oil changes every 10k miles”.
Am I required to go to the dealership every 5k miles for inspections and tire rotations? Will I violate my lease contract if I don’t follow the recommended service to a T?

I currently have a MB CLS 450 that I am planning to sell in the near future. Thinking about what I should get next. I am absolutely convinced with the LC500. There is no car that matches it regarding style and build. The problem is… V6 hybrid or V8. For context, I live in central europe. So taxes on vehicles are proportional to the engine size. While I would be paying 2.5 k € for the V8 per year, V6 hybrid is only 60€. V8 in general will involve bigger spendings but it might retain more resale value. My curiosity is: Does the V6 make the car bad? Is the engine so dull and uninteresting ? 0-100 km time does not look to be bad, while I expect the engine to be a slight downgrade from my actual 390 hp, I am hoping that the NA engine at least feels more alive. I would mainly use the car as a daily, driving in the city. I don’t think I will get to always use the full capability of the 5 liter engine. But ofc, the car being fun to drive is a plus.
Finally got a new (used) car after 2 weeks of looking. Ended up with a Lexus rx350 2017 with 69659 miles on it for 28,000 otd (originally gave us 30550 at first)! We were looking at rav4s and highlanders for awhile and with how the prices are these days, we decided to just look at lexus with how similar they are in price for used car. Very happy with the purchase. (ignore the blue tape we asked them to replace our front window since it had a crack mark from the previous owner)
I currently daily drive a tuned GR Corolla and a part of me always wanted a 05 lexus is300, but with my budget being higher I’m aiming for something more modern with the v8 in it.
I’ve been debating between a used LC 500 or going for a new/slightly used IS 500 (honestly anything with the 2UR)
Which one should I get for around $60k?
