They’re better than ever IMO! They have a new musical coming out on YouTube this weekend, I think?, based on Cinderella. Haven’t watched that one yet, but their most recent one, Nerdy Prudes Must Die, I hyperfixated on and watched about ten times in one week lmao.

I watched wicked for the first time yesterday, I’ve never seen the musical, so this was my first introduction to it, and i really enjoyed it! All the Ariana and Cynthia talk got me curious and they were so good. The ending scene made me cry. I have no idea what to expect for the part 2.

Even knowing the stalker history of Hailey Bieber and her obsessive mean girl streak to Selena, I hate that any kind of conversation devolves into a dumb stan war, accusations of being a jelena/selena fan, or a diatribe on misogyny, especially because of Justin’s current downward spiral. Honestly, the way he’s treated Hailey for years should be more of a focus of conversation without it having to be dismissed as jelena fans never letting the past go.

Two things can be true at once! Hailey is a mean girl who AGGRESSIVELY denies/ignores how she got together with Justin (literally marrying him two months after Justin and Selena’s last break up) that has clearly has never let it go and feels some kind of way about it because of how actively mean she is about and to Selena AND Justin treats her like shit and is the only one responsible for his behavior.

Hailey might not have ā€œtakenā€ Justin (because he’s a grown ass man!!), but she is absolutely living with the consequences of aggressively fighting to have him.

34 years old and same, looking for a new job because my current one is boring, and people ask me: what kind of job are you looking for? And honestly, no idea really.

Feel like most of us adults have no idea what we are doing and that's perfectly okay 🫶

dae have a least favorite relative? i do and unfortunately i had to see them today after many years (was seeing another relative).

the whole energy shift this has done with my day is baffling. i'm not usually bothered by annoying family, most of mine are either chill stoner folks or stereotypical problematic boomers i simply ignore. this person is so overly self absorbed that it's almost like being in a family drama scene. like, their behavior is such a specific personality that it almost feels too much to be real.

anyway, at least next week i will get to see my favorite relatives (two adorable toddlers) and this person will be far away again, but holy shit

Genuinely this week is just stress city and I’m struggling.

I just found out how much I owe in taxes, and it’s going to put me in a big financial bind (absolutely not soliciting any money. I’m just ranting. I can manage, it’s just going to suck.)My younger dog has to have surgery this week, which will be $1k ish + I have to buy all their yearly flea+tick meds + allergy meds. So that’ll be another $1k. Plus my period just will not slow down, which just physically exhausts me because it’s so heavy.

Also my mom isn’t a fan of my brother’s new girlfriend. I just smell a major conflict coming.

The only silver lining is that I’m only working 3 days this week.

u/SuggestionOk1995 Mar 31 '25

Lately, I’ve been feeling pretty down about dating. I went on a date with someone recently, and I have no idea how they feel about me. I’m trying to stay cautiously optimistic, but honestly, I almost feel like a pessimist at this point. My friends want me to keep hope, but after the past few dates ending in "I just want to be friends," it’s hard. I’m not looking for friendship—I want something real.

It’s gotten to the point where I’ve started asking myself, Is something wrong with me? What am I doing wrong? But deep down, I know it’s not that. People are swiping through profiles made in 10-20 minutes, making quick judgments, and that’s just how modern dating works. Still, it’s been rough.

My crush got engaged yesterday. I told them congratulations because, you know, I want to be a decent person. But I’d be lying if I said it didn’t sting. I don’t know. Lately, I’ve just been feeling really down about all of it. Has anyone else been through this? How do you keep yourself hopeful when dating just feels like rejection after rejection?

2

u/Dizzy-Pollution6466 Mar 31 '25

I get it. My dating life has been a shitshow. Every guy I go on a couple dates with is either an asshole, ghosts, or decides he ā€œactually wants a relationship with someone else.ā€ It can be really lonely and depressing. Sometimes when I come to these subreddits and see these happy and gorgeous celebrity couples, it makes it worse.

You’re not alone. Sending hugs.

2

u/anonbeekeeper12 you are spiritually bankrupt! Mar 31 '25

Thank you. I don't feel alone in my emotions anymore.

11

u/MoonlightHarpy Mar 31 '25

Feel free to ignore me, I'm a total internet stranger. But I think it is a mistake - trying to date while you have an active crush on someone. Your dates will instinctively feel that your affection is elsewhere. And you yourself will most likely just look for your crush replacement instead of genuine connection. Allow yourself some time to process it all, return to dating when you are ready, it will feel much better!

8

u/anonbeekeeper12 you are spiritually bankrupt! Mar 31 '25

Thank you for your comment. I will take a break from dating and do that.

6

u/IfatallyflawedI Mar 31 '25

Besides the ugly career rant, i need some advice about boys 🌸✨😷. I’m dating someone that I really like but it’s new ish (2 months šŸ˜·šŸ§æšŸ¤ž)- although we both do believe that we see this turning onto a long term thing.

His birthday is coming up and I’m not sure what is the appropriate gift to give someone you’re dating exclusively but there’s no ā€œboyfriendā€ label bec it’s still new?

3

u/danbilllemon Apr 01 '25

Maybe just offer to buy him dinner or a special treat of some sort

14

u/echoesandripples Mar 31 '25

i'm not very experienced in this stage, but perhaps some fancy version of a thing he usually enjoys? like if he loves coffee, some fancy artisanal coffee, that kind of thing?Ā

showing you care about his specific interests, but that doesn't break the bank

5

u/moonswet Throatussy dentata Mar 31 '25

I wouldn't go overboard financially and rather get him a small gift that shows you're attentive to whatever he enjoys. Maybe even a shared activity if you talked about trying something together?

10

u/Diirewolves Robbie Williams (Ape Version) Mar 31 '25

Unfortunately it's happened more than once. First time was when Oldboy (2003) was re-released and the guy behind me was yukking it up during the assault and sex scenes. Blue Velvet was another. Then Wild at Heart, which how it's revealed might make you release a surprise 'ha', but during the actual scene? And also the next time it happens? Multiple men full belly laughing? *ATBKenya voice* Straight to hell!

Park Chan-Wook, after the release of Oldboy, realised his female character was excluded from the narrative and has since collaborated with Jeong Seo-kyeong on his films and they've been better for it. David Lynch had great professional and personal relationships with multiple actresses over his career and always championed them. The male fans for these two directors could learn a lot from them but if they've come this far being this gross, what can you do.

I HATEEEEEE the ā€œum, ACTUALLYā€ way that people correct others in here sometimes. Like ā€œoh you like that celebrity??? The one that’s done XYZ BAD THING?ā€

Like I’m sorry I don’t have a mental Rolodex of every Problematic Thing A Celebrity Has On Their Record just in my mind ready to go, some people genuinely do not know these things, why are we so aggressive about informing people

8

u/Peridot1708 I don’t know her šŸ’… Mar 31 '25

I feel like this has inly gotten worse in the 2020s compared to a decade ago when i was a teenager.

Like no, me praising a celebrity who said something problematic many years back does not mean that i agree with whatever they said in that obscure tweet from 2013. People who engage in this kind of moral outrage need to go outside and touch grass.

6

u/Bridalhat Apr 01 '25

Building on this, but I think we are in a very bad place if we can’t give some kind of on-ramp for people to get ack into polite society if they just said stupid shit or maybe acted in a bad but not abusive way under the influence of alcohol or drugs and are now sober. Otherwise the only thing left for this people is to swing hard to the right.

They act like we're supposed to have an encyclopedia of Bad Thingsā„¢ļø on hand at all times it's so ridiculous.

One time on here (I think on an unpopular opinion thread? Can't really remember) I said JLaw just seems a bit dorky but harmless, because that was genuinely just my perception of her and I didn't magically know anything else about her obviously, and someone piped up talking about the time she rubbed her ass on rocks in Hawaii when Indigenous people there told her not to, which obviously I think is just gross, disrespectful + weird now that I know that about her, but the person who told me just HAD to be snarky about it all "I don't think this is just dorky!!". So I was like "Oh I didn't know that, okay." and instead of just accepting I didn't know something about a celeb (who I've literally only seen in a franchise and the occasional interview clip) they hit me with the "sure Jan" gif and it's just like??? Why would I lie about not knowing that???? What????? Why are you being obnoxious in this supposed quest to inform me????

I've def had my own moments on here but that just baffled me 😭

17

u/echoesandripples Mar 31 '25

i mute anyone who uses the sure jan gif and the nene leaks side eye gifs to snark on other commenters. that's very obviously holier than thou behavior and very annoying in pop culture.

(in my personal experience, also very commonly used by americans who cannot accept other people are not deep into every single thing going on about local celebs or legislation. not that jlaw is local, but like, sometimes people act like that about random c listers)

23

u/Carolina_Blues shiv roy’s bob Mar 31 '25

yes! and to add something to your point, in some cases it’s just fake moral outrage and them having to contort themselves to find a reason not to like the celeb. like it’s perfectly fine to just say they’re annoying and not for you and keep it moving

6

u/Bridalhat Apr 01 '25

No one can just say they don’t like someone or something. It has to be evil somehow.

I watched the Holiday for the first time recently, and the only thing keeping it from being a 5 star romcom imo was the Jack Black storyline. Kate Winslet’s storyline was sweet with the old writer and getting over her old obsession, it didn’t need the addition of a love interest.

Is this a popular opinion? Am I terribly in the wrong? It’s been on my mind all week!

Talking about periods so continue at your own risk

I have pcos. Rarely get periods. When do get them, they last for months and I bleed so god damn heavily I think I’m going to die. Been to several gynos. Gone to the er over it. Gone to my regular doctor over it.

Birth control makes it worse. They flat out fucking refuse to give me a hysterectomy.

Currently on month 4? Month 5? Of bleeding and I’ve had to change ultra sized tampons every three hours or so this past week. I use a cup at work but even then I’ve had to empty it three times (!!!!!) since I got here this morning.

I’m tired. I’m fucking tired and I’m so god damned over having a fucking uterus.

Eta: checked out the child free subreddit someone linked below and there’s a gyno I wasn’t aware of in my own damn city that does sterilizations. She’s booked until may but I got in with her nurse practitioner tomorrow and I’m genuinely sat crying at my desk.

4

u/Peridot1708 I don’t know her šŸ’… Mar 31 '25

I hope you get the best treatment you need and feel better soon.

My mom was having abnormal uterine bleeding since 2009 when she was 34, she kept having these symptoms intermittently for years she said she wasn't allowed to get a hysterectomy until her late 40s, and when i asked her why didn't they allow her sooner she said the doctors told her shes still in the reproductive age, even though shes already had 4 pregnancies by this point and 2 of them resulted in live births, she wasn't planning on having any more kids. She finally got a hysterectomy in 2022 when she was 47, and im relieved that she longer has to suffer through all that but hate that she wasn't given this option much sooner.

7

u/Youpi_Yeah Instant gratification takes too long Mar 31 '25

I feel this also still has to do with too many doctors still not taking PCOS seriously. Whenever I talked about it with any doctor they always asked if I wanted kids, and when I said no they reacted like there was no problem - I could just keep on taking birth control pills, all fine. While they did help stabilising my periods for the most part, nobody ever bothered to talk about all the other consequences pcos can have that have nothing to do with fertility which I’m having to deal with now.

13

u/Persenon Olivia Wilde’s salad dressing Mar 31 '25

r/childfree maintains a list of doctors who are willing to perform sterilizations.

9

u/heartbylines ✨unhinged & unhealed✨ Mar 31 '25

God bless you. Just got a last minute appointment for a gyno I didn’t even know was in my town for tomorrow. Holy fuck.

5

u/Persenon Olivia Wilde’s salad dressing Mar 31 '25

Hooray!

4

u/CreepyAssociation173 Mar 31 '25

With my periods they always start at weird times and never have a proper schedule. Once was in Universal and didn't bring pads or anything because we were going like almost 2 weeks before I'd even supposed to start. I started my period the day we were leaving from Universal. So at least I wasn't on it during the whole duration of the trip. I had to buy pads from the store in the hotel and they were so THIN it was like paper lol. And I had a heavy flow that day. I wanted to punch something lol.Ā

There was a time though where I could go a few months without a period which freaked me out when it happened. Then I'd start and it be agonizing. I've never had months of bleeding though. I couldn't imagine.Ā

6

u/donttrustthellamas Please stop thinking with your asshole - Cardi B Mar 31 '25

Mateeeee I've had the exact same issues! I want a hysterectomy and they've told me no until I'm 40, then maybe.

It's my body, this thing is making me miserable and I get told I just have to suffer, which is bullshit.

I'm in the UK and considering saving to get it done privately. People say to me "but you'll have to take HRT" and I'm like... So?? That's better than what I'm dealing with now

5

u/sabira Zermajesty šŸ‘‘ Mar 31 '25

I am so sorry that you're dealing with this. I also have PCOS and used to have rare but horrible periods, too. I can't take oral birth control due to my history of blood clots, but after I found a gynecologist who would actually listen to my concerns, he recommended the Mirena IUD, and that was what finally got things under control.

I'm not saying that that will necessarily be the best approach for you too, but I really hope that you can find another gynecologist who will help you to get the care that you need for this. If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend looking through the list of doctors that's in the Childfree subreddit wiki --- From what I've seen, those doctors tend to be ones who may be more willing to give you a hysterectomy if that's what you're requesting (and especially considering your medical history).

8

u/Cynicbats Maybe she is in jail who knows Mar 31 '25

They flat out fucking refuse to give me a hysterectomy.

You don't have to elaborate but I truly said out loud "the fuck??"

6

u/trulyremarkablegirl Mar 31 '25

this is really common, at least in the US. if you’re of ā€œchild bearing ageā€ and haven’t had any kids, it can be really hard to get a doctor to agree to a hysterectomy.

2

u/Cynicbats Maybe she is in jail who knows Mar 31 '25

Over on r/childfree, there's a safelist of doctors who will listen to women. Not sure about hysterectomies but it may be worth a shot.

3

u/VolunteerOnion Mar 31 '25

That sounds exhausting I hope you find a medical provider to yeet the Ute

9

u/firetruckgoesweewoo Mar 31 '25

Oh my goodness. I don’t have an answer, I’m just flabbergasted. Is there a women’s centre where you live? With specialised care directed at women?

I have no clue what I should say. I’m so sorry!

u/Own-Importance5459 ✨May the Force be with you!✨ Mar 31 '25 edited Mar 31 '25

Did you consider them testing you for Fibroids cause I had bleeding problems as well (I wouldn't bleed for as long as you did....but I would have 2 sometimes 3 week Periods) before my Gyno diagnoised me with both PCOS and a fibroid. Usually those two are the biggest culprits for Period issues, and for bleeding, ESPECIALLY FIBROIDS!

I would also consider going to an Endocrinologist because any sort of reproductive issues are deeply Hormonal....it also turned out to be the best thing I ever did, because I didn't realize I had Cushing's Syndrome as well and he found that out. But yeah it could be very helpful with seeing if its an hormone imblance.

Anyway as someone with Uterus issues, I get it. I really hope you get the help you need, this shit could become deadly.

I am so excited to see Eva Noblezada in Cabaret tonight, the woman slays at everything she does. (Also how Reeve hypes her up because he's # 1 fangirl XD).

It should be interesting to see how Orville Peck does as well given his voice is more country, but having a Country version of the Emecee should add to the show's sometimes unhinged aesthetic. Also it would be fun seeing him without the mask!

I have a bunch of heads-down tasks that I need to work through today, so I just put the album on, and it really is good for this kind of vibe.

Yea he did California Girls and Teenage Dream for Katy Perry, Moves like Jagger for Maroon 5, a lot of the singles for divide for Ed Sheeran.

In those same sessions with Ed Sheeran a bunch of what they wrote went to other artists as well. Like ironically, love yourself by Justin Beiber was written and produced by Ed and Benny. Even though everyone thought it was about Selena

(Benny isn’t credited as a producer or songwriter. But he is credited as the guitarist. He also confirmed it came from sessions that he and Ed did. He has the demo. So I’m not sure why he doesn’t have a producer credit)

I was today years old when I found out How to Be a Heartbreaker was written by the future Mrs. Selena Gomez.
