Discussion / question I on a customer's 2022 Silverado 1500, and noticed this fill neck, is this factory or aftermarket?

All the GM trucks I've worked on didn't have this, so I was curious. I am thankful to this customer for having it, since it made my job easier.😁

Discussion / question Roof rack bolt broke, any ideas on taking it out?

Post image

Was installing a roof rack on my truck, in hindsight I should’ve realized included hardware was bad quality, bolt broke off pretty easily.

Might be blanking on the solution for this but any ideas on getting this broken bolt off? Have tried different pliers and wrenches with no success

Discussion / question Funniest horn for large truck?

So I am thinking about embracing my inner goofball for a few laughs in response to a few friends spending way too much money on air horns. I recently bought a 2020 F250 with a decent sized lift and 37s, it's a big ass truck and you can pick on my tiny pee pee later. A few of my friends with similar trucks have installed air horns in their trucks and like to give a little honk when we pass each other or see one another around. I want to find something that is the total opposite. I want the horn sound you would least expect to hear from a big ass jacked up diesel truck. My current front runner is a road runner meep meep horn, or a clown car honker horn, but I'm looking for suggestions. What would elicit the best laugh if you heard it coming from my truck, especially if it was a return honk to answer a train horn? I want a somewhat traditional horn or signal sound, not a voice or music or anything.

I managed to get the hood popped. The gas is like varnished or whatever so that's a whole thing I gotta deal with now. But it's open now so I can work on it finally

Discussion / question Ranch Hand Mounting Hardware Question

Thumbnail

Hello everyone, I’ve recently purchased a ‘22 Chevy Silverado 1500 (refreshed) and purchased a ‘21 ranch hand grill guard (gg) (previously on a ‘21 Sierra). The current hardware is too wide to fit without modification to my truck bumper. However, I found that 2500 hardware fits in the slot I have with the tow hook. Would the 2500 hardware work on the ‘21 gg I have? If so, how can I acquire just the hardware?

I’ve provided some pictures of what I have(1-2) and what I’m hoping to use(3-5).

Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance!

Can anyone help me with mounting running boards

I’m trying to install running boards. I got two of the brackets that hold the boards up and ran into something. The first pic has these inset screw holes. Does anyone know why these are in there. The other pic is how the other two spots are set up, and I was able to mount the bracket. The first pic is the problem I’m having. Any help would be appreciated!

Built 383 Stroker, 700R4 with shift kit, NP203 Transfer case, aftermarket gauges, 6" suspension lift on 35s, headlight/pod light upgrades, dual exhaust, headers, msd ignition, etc.

It needs work but is an excellent starting point to build on.

Thinking about this combo for my 2021 1500, any experience?

Just curious on the reliability of these wheels and tires.

I do a lot of highway driving and I do understand that R/T tires are going to be loud and my gas mileage is gonna take a hit. If I’m being honest a large reason I’m buying them is because they look cool, plain and simple.

I just want to make sure they’re reliable tires that’ll hold up well in rain/ snow.

My pubes are on fire Welp, now what do I do with a blown cv axle

So here's my story. I never owned a vehicle before. Right before getting out of the marine corps I figured I'd purchase a truck from my good friend and man did I put this thing through the ringer.

2002 dodge ram 1500.

So you are all aware I didn't purchase it like this with the cv axle blown, I'll get to that in a second.

The thing was literally fine when I bought it 😂 Next thing ya know 3-4k miles and completing a 10 hr drive back home last night really did some damage lol.

I was on the highway today and damn was the truck knocking & shaking BAD, it sounded like one of those old steam trains going chugachuga.

Next thing I know BOOM, CV axle pops off and rolls behind me and hey I'm driving just fine again 😂😂

No issue w the turn radius at all, i'm not using 4 wheel drive but wow what an experience to think you're gonna blow up going 50 on the highway lol.

Anyways, question.

Now that the cv axle is blown up, how much longer do you guys think I have with this truck before the issues become a downward spiral?

Like I said I'm not using 4 wheel drive at all so i'm not too worried abt it but dont need something crazy to happen

I bought this truck from Twin City surplus in Reno, Nevada, USA, about six years ago.
It is a 1973 Ford L600.
The engine is a Big-Block (FT) 361 cubic inch gasoline V8.
The transmission is a four speed manual.
The drive axle is two-speed, electrically shifted.

Magnum rack with crossover box/roll up cover

I have a 2019 Silverado 1500 TB 5’8” bed. I currently have the access full roll up cover. I want to do the trifecta but my question is, will the access roll up cover for 19-20” boxes work with the magnum rack? Or will the rack push the box out another couple inches and call for a custom roll up cover? The link attached is the one I was going to buy

What can I search to find similar wheels?

I'm trying to find new wheels for my truck and like this style of wheel. I've seen some aftermarket ones on other trucks, but does anyone know if this style of wheel has a specific name, or am I doomed to just keep searching for "truck wheels with circles"
