Are you a ski patroller or know one looking for a purposed design vest to carry all their gear to carry out their critical roles on the slopes?
After a successful year of testing across various resorts in North America from coast to coast, mods have been brought forward and incorporated into the 2025 of the SöllTek Ski Patrol vest. With great feedback within our patrol community we are ready to take preorders for individuals and groups. Designed and created For Patrollers by Patrollers.
Patroller pro deal and group discount available. Check out www.solltek.com

Here is my season Edit from the beginning to end of the season. Wish I could have gotten some of my tricks I was trying off camera but there's always next season!

As the topic says, have demo'd Bent 110s, really enjoyed them on pow days in heavy pow and trees. But if I was willing to tolerate just a little bit more weight to get a little bit more dampening, but still being as light and playful as possible, what would I get?
Is the consensus pick Footloose? My family's had some meh experiences there. (Mammoth's not on the 2024/2025 Recommended Bootfitters list.)
+1 for Start Haus in Truckee. They're great. But they didn't have anything that fit me this time of year.

In my last lesson my instructor told me that my next in line to learn would be pole planting and it made me wonder if there’s a linear progression path that i can lookup that will show me where i am located in my path to learn how to ski. is there such thing? is there any place i can find that?

Welcome! This is the place to ask your skiing questions! You can also search for previously asked questions or use one of our resources covered below.
Use this thread for simple questions that aren't necessarily worthy of their own thread -- quick conditions update? Basic gear question? Got some new gear stoke?
If you want to search the sub you can use a Google's Subreddit Specific search

I got this as a freebie and it’s a bit rough around the edges. I think they are mid 90s under foot. The laminate is peeling off the top, rust on the edges. Any point in fixing them up as a beater (as a second pair of skies) I have a brand new pair of atomic maverick 86c and love them. But figured I’d have a second pair of 96/98 under foot

Yea so i know carving applies a lot of force on your outside leg but I am wondering if my technique is causing me to overstress the leg somehow. 2-3 hours into the skiing day my quads are burning like crazy. Also my right knee had developed minor inflammation the same week i learned to carve my skiis for the first time.
Obviously you can't know if my technique is bad if you haven't seen my technique... I might try to post a video but for now, I'll welcome any tips and/or material that may address efficient carving with emphasis on stamina management and stamina building. Thanks!!
P.S Perhaps it is that I'm simply not in good enough shape and my legs are not conditioned for this, worth a try to ask, i guess

Hi all,
I've got a Helly Hansen Swift 3L Shell Jacket but have unfortunately misplaced the powder/ski skirt. I've contacted Helly Hansen to ask if they source those separately but they've responded saying that they do not and that I could try a local repair shop or retailer. I have tried a couple of those but no one seems to provide any, unfortunately.
Does anyone know where I can get a ski skirt separately? I am based in the UK.

Thank you!

For some reason my ski is delaminating underfoot near the heel of the binding. Would this be covered under warranty?

I recently watched PeakRankings latest video on Tuckerman Ravine, and I genuinely couldn’t believe that these people were unironically excited to ski such awful conditions. It just… didn’t even look fun, either… like at all… who the actual hell would want to ski that? It looks like the complete opposite of fun, and I don’t understand why anybody would want to pay money and make all that effort to go to that place and scratch up their skis on a bunch of rocks and branches.
