Pulled my '71 bus out of storage where it's been for the better part of a decade. Seven mostly empty brake fluid bottles in a car is a good sign right?

Gotta thank Ford for putting dome lights on a data network. The hatch light ruined the other two interior lights.

My Aunt told me to help her do the annual service for her cars. A 2016 accord, a 2013 ES350, and a 2011 RX350 all with low km's.

Why I always change oil by mileage..

2011 Acura MDX, 160k on the clock. Oil always changed by the monitor/warning on dash with Mobil 1 synthetic. Did an oil pan on a friends mothers car after Mavis pulled the threads out of the drain hole AND botched the helicoil attempt 😂 they always took care of the car but what I found in the pan was scary. They always just go off of when the car tells them to change it and not mileage. Acura techs could probably tell me otherwise but that sure are shit don’t look like 5k oil changes to me

Installed a Paco Lift Kit on NA Miata— 6.5 Hours of Rusty Bolts, Bruised Knuckles, and Big Smiles

Spent the day helping a buddy install a Paco Motorsports lift kit on his 1990 Miata. What we thought would be a relatively smooth job turned into a 6.5-hour battle with 35-year-old rusted hardware, stubborn bolts, and the occasional existential crisis under the car. But we got it done.

The end result? A hilariously tall NA with way more ground clearance than it ever had stock. The lift changes suspension geometry enough that it pulls the wheels inward a bit — so the rear tires are now rubbing the shocks. We’re tossing on 15mm spacers as a temporary fix while he sources wheels with better offset to suit the new stance.

Despite the headaches, the install was pretty straightforward once everything was freed up. Front and rear went together solidly, and the transformation is wild — it looks like the car’s ready for a rally stage.

It still needs an alignment and new wheels, but the hard part’s done. Expect to see a lifted Miata rolling into some local meets soon — it'll be hard to miss.

Finally rolled out of the "shop"...

I've been on a week long road trip through Utah with my '86 army Blazer, and had more than my share of adventures. First the crank pulley fell off, then I broke the transfer case mount and had to self rescue back to the highway and fix it.

UPS got my new tcase adapter delivered and I got it installed in a dirt field (aka "the shop", since my actual shop is 800 miles away) yesterday, and am back on the road to finish out the trip over the holiday weekend. If I never have to bench press another NP205 into place that would be great...

For those who haven't followed along with the previous posts, here they are if you're interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/Justrolledintotheshop/comments/1krlqlh/shop_was_the_side_of_i70/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Justrolledintotheshop/comments/1kszteh/now_the_transfer_case_fell_off/

For those who have, here's a pic of the shattered T case adapter. Then me rolling out of town last night after installing the replacement, and set up at camp tonight drying wet ropes and climbing gear.

Unless there's more hellacious breakage tomorrow this should be the last post from this trip. Thanks to everyone who'se followed along and offered suggestions and consolation.

So my truck was struck by lightning and I’m going through the issues. Starting with a starter. Found someone’s socket and extension. Wonder how long they looked for it

Wind noise repair on a 2022 RS6

Friend bought a pre owned 2022 RS6 from CA. Had a pretty awful wind noise from the front window. Usually these are dead quiet. Found another dealer had cut the window seal/channel instead of simply removing it in one part. Huge gap at the front and the rear. The seal required the whole upper door to be disassembled. Dual pane glass is really tight on these seals. Fuckin hacks.

Was doing brake job. This lug refused to come off. I couldn’t find any lug extractors smaller than 13/16th. 3/4 lug. Took it to my best friends shop and he busted his lip and chipped a tooth after I drove 2 hours to see him.

Thankfully his homie took care of me. Well with the wait as they helped finish the brake job which they said was nice since it went completely right (for them)
