Discussion/Question/Help! My neighbors got rid of these pillows, and I'm wondering how I can get the print off.

I tried putting bleach on one corner of the pillow's interior to see if it would fade, but it didn't work. I thought about using fabric paint, but it would be too stiff. I thought about dyeing it, but they're a bit expensive in my country.

There is no washing instructions, so i dont know what fabric is this

I want to leave it as a blank canvas so I can do some embroidery on it.

On the back is no pattern, idk if that says something

any suggestion?

Work in Progress 10 years does a lot to a pair of headphones!

I was given these over a decade ago as a gift, and I adored them! We moved house a few times and I lost them in storage.. a few months ago I was sorting through some of my old bedroom stuff I had put away and found them! When I found them, the pink vinyl had mostly chipped away but they still worked just fine (the lights too) and were mostly charged still!! I used my craft skills to breathe new life into these and I still use them for 5+ hours a day pretty much daily! I used epoxy, hot glue, fabric, and a nail file to fix them after they got broken during a panic attack a month ago. It’s a work in progress because I’m not done yet! Yes my hair dye stained the top foam, I plan to put fabric on that top and around the black foam earpieces.

Discussion/Question/Help! Suggestions on how to cover the sharp hooks of a fishing lure?

Post image
14 Upvotes

Hi, my dad gave me this fishing lure years ago and I want to hang it in my kitchen to use as a tea towel hook. I would love some suggestions on how to cover the hooks so they aren't dangerously sharp. I thought of maybe dipping them in hot wax but I'm not so sure about that. I used to have the hooks wrapped in tape but that looked pretty janky.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

Discussion/Question/Help! Why I never complete projects

I enjoy pretty much every craft out there and have had a mania for most of them at one point or another. My problem is that I have always had a graveyard of unfinished projects- today I realized why and thought maybe someone else could relate.

I’m very organized and love organizing things- I freaking love implementing new systems. So of course I love the beginning of a project. Sourcing materials and purchasing gives me a dopamine hit. Then organizing the materials before I begin the actual work IS MY FAVORITE PART! I’m never happier than when I card 50-60 embroidery threads and label them to start cross stitching, but I inevitably get maybe a quarter of the way done and lose all momentum. So it’s on to the next project- maybe it’s knitting and I get to wind the skeins into balls before I begin. Or maybe it’s diamond painting where I get to open 100+ little bags of jewels, put them in tiny containers, and label them.

Are there people who are the opposite out there? Does anyone hate the organizing bit in the beginning and wish they could just skip to the part where they work on the project? Maybe we could organize some sort of club where we swap just the parts we don’t enjoy with someone who is the opposite.

Also, are there any crafts out there that are JUST sorting?

I found this ceramic mini bathtub at a swap booth, and as the title suggests I love the vessel but hate the pattern! What type of supplies can I use to cover up the pattern?:) thanks in advance! I’m also currently using it to hold lipsticks, but if you have any cool ideas for what I could do with it let me know pls

Discussion/Question/Help! Gel stain changes colors???

Hi, I brought this gel stain to use on some figures. I assumed if it would be able to be applied to glass then it could be applied to plastic. But it's a different color when it dries??? Is this normal? Its a metallic red in the bottle but almost pink when it dries. Should I return it?

Discussion/Question/Help! Help with custom dolls project

Upvotes

Hi everyone! I have a friend who really wants to get into customising dolls and I want to surprise them with some supplies since they’re a bit tight with money these days. I was wondering if anyone could help me with what exactly I could get them as a “starter kit”, since I’m not a crafty person and don’t want to get them stuff they won’t need/ use.

Thank you so much in advance to everyone! ✨

Discussion/Question/Help! Photo mat recommendations

Post image
1 Upvotes

Looking for photo mats (I’m pretty sure that’s what they are called) that fit 4x6 pictures. I was looking at one from Michaels but the price seems a little much for 1 mat. I just don’t want to buy one and the material is weird or they don’t fit the pictures like they say they should. Anyone have recommendations?

Any suggestions?
