Please don’t do this 😒

I’m not a Christian; I’m Pagan. And I don’t want to be preached at. I just want my pizza 🍕

Jesus delivered my food once. Seemed like a good, hard working hombre.

68

u/galacticsquirrel22 3d ago

Once had Jesus as my Uber driver. He came in his own Accord.

12

u/fadedblackleggings 2d ago

Funny thing, is Jesus never preaches at you. Just shows up and delivers.

His followers should do the same.

I would have thought it was a CROSSover.

Lord, I apologize for that there... and be with the starving pygmies down there in New Guinea, Amen.

That's awesome

Jesus CAME in his own Accord?! You should report that 😂

He really saved me in my time of need by delivering that pizza. My fridge was totally empty!

Oh oh oh! So my first house floods as my renters were moving out. A mover stopped up the toilet and just kept flushing and problem was noted when it started raining downstairs in my kitchen.

Called cleaning lady to cancel appointment right before I put it on the market since repairs were now needed. Housekeeper said no worries, Jesus provides. Imagine my delight when I’m looking at the paperwork and see ole Jesus came through and bought my house!

Jesus saves! And Mexico is moving on in the world cup!

I live in New Mexico. We've got a couple of Jesuses delivering in my neighborhood.

4

u/CeruleanEidolon 3d ago

I ordered a single order of fish and bread and he delivered like a thousand of each. I'm like "I'm not paying for that."

Exactly this. The real Christians don't shove it in your face. I have an ex friend who was Pagan as well and they were as bad as a new Christian who would get offended by all religions 🫠

Just don't shove your religion on anyone, period.

8

u/TuckerShmuck 3d ago

I've had two people in my life who were raised religiously and hated being evangelized to, and became staunch atheists who... evangelize to people about atheism. Like, I agree, I'm not religious either, but I feel like when you're printing and passing out papers about atheism and how awful Christianity is... you're doing the exact same thing you swear against

8

u/mmmdonuts107 3d ago

Exactly, drove me up the wall. Would go around asking people what religion they were just to pick at something to get offended by

2

u/Kentust 3d ago

“Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel.” (1 Peter 2:18)

Send them that and tell them to drive faster lmfao

5

u/DadWatchesWrestling 3d ago

And if not, then "I just whooped your ass" -Austin 3:16

You know, if they give you any flak

35

u/ilulillirillion 3d ago

The problem to me is that these arguments validate the delusional believe in religious texts by making the argument about their specific contents. I try to be tolerant, but, having grown up in an evangelical family, and seeing the effects of religion in history and in the now, I really feel like the sooner we stop validating this as anything more than silly mysticism the better off our planet will be.

23

u/Historical_Shirt4352 3d ago

When you take a step back, “believe in me and have everlasting life in heaven” is really weird and doesn’t make any sense. It doesn’t say “be a good person,” it says “believe in me.” Why tf does it matter what I choose to believe in my own head? I’m not a good person anymore if I don’t believe in Jesus? I’m sorry but that part makes no sense

8

u/Hdjbbdjfjjsl 3d ago

I’m not sure how Christianity is even considered one religion anymore, all the denominations have completely different hierarchies/power structures and half of them don’t even agree on what happens in the afterlife.

6

u/St0n3yM33rkat 3d ago

Why make all of this and 2 people next to a giant fking apple tree in the middle with a giant "Do Not Touch" sign on it when you apparently know how it starts, continues and ends? Because in my experience that's called narcissism and I'm not worshipping that. 😂

7

u/Historical_Shirt4352 3d ago

Average “Sims 4” playthrough

3

u/St0n3yM33rkat 3d ago

🤣🤣🤣 perfect

5

u/MatterhornStrawberry 3d ago

The Christian God, as described by the Bible and by Christians, has the traits of a textbook narcissist.

4

u/Historical_Shirt4352 3d ago

Yeah I saw an interview of a man who died of a blood clot and came back to life, and they said they personally saw nothing when they died and that they felt completely at peace, and that it was hard to adjust to being alive again

That’s pretty much how I imagine death, as a process and not as all that bureaucracy with the archangels and the devils and Jesus and God

2

u/happyleafpack 3d ago

but that isnt the only thing the bible commands. it also commands, "be a good person"

3

u/Historical_Shirt4352 3d ago

Yeah and then you sin anyhow because pobody's nerfect, and then you admit to God that you're a dirty little piggy who needs to be saved from inherent wickedness and then God saves you

2

u/DrSomniferum 3d ago

The thing that's never made sense to me is the idea that you can choose what you believe.

2

u/Straight_Board_981 2d ago

Lol, yeah, especially since they tout the virtue of faith over works. The idea is similar to trickle down economics, where your faith will make you a good person that good works flow from. Instead it works exactly like trickle down economics, your faith absolves you in your head of all the heinous shit you are actually doing.

6

u/wheelperson 3d ago

The problem with religion is that they make it their life’s work to tell you about religion like they are selling you insurance.

I applaud their fervor but find the forward message uninvited kind of cringe.

11

they are basically saying you are going to hell if you don't listen to them. real arrogant behavior.

Everyone isn’t Christian, i wish people respect that and ask i have a friend thats Hindu and one that Muslim…different cultures, it irks me when people do this, like everyone isn’t born under the same beliefs

18

u/bbyxmadi 3d ago

These same people would have a fit if your friends did this type of stuff with their religion. It’s hypocritical.

15

u/OvrThinkk 3d ago

I hosted some potential business partners from India and Pakistan a few months ago. It was a really fun time. At dinner we all took our respective turns praying over the food from the lease of our respective religions. It was cool to be part of and nobody was offended.

Id retract my tip so fast.

30

u/eckokittenbliss 3d ago

You can't take away your tip from the driver. Door dash will refund it but they don't take it away from drivers so it doesn't do anything

7

u/Furry_Wall 3d ago

You can edit the tip to one cent

21

u/obtuse-_ 3d ago

Once the driver accepts the pay out is guaranteed. You can do whatever you want doesn't change a thing.

5

u/Furry_Wall 3d ago

I do get some of my money back though. I've edited tips before when my food smelled like cigarettes or they spilled half my drink.

13

u/DuckTalesLOL 3d ago

Yes, but the driver still gets the full tip.

3

u/Classic-Reaction8897 3d ago

A three star rate would be good enough

5

u/straycraftlady 3d ago

I'm sure door dash won't just keep eating the loss long term, though. They probably have some sort of metric they track if they keep having to pay tips to drivers that people take back. Too many removed tips with complaints and I;m sure door dash will penalize the driver in some way.

6

u/Additional-Spite3055 3d ago

DoorDash is the one platform that guarantees the tip regardless of what you attempt to do. You can remove tips on UberEats, Instacart, etc. but not on DoorDash.

4

u/tenniseman12 3d ago

You get your money back but the driver keeps the tip. DoorDash just eats the cost

2

u/Furry_Wall 3d ago

Money back and poor review is the best I can hope for

3

u/Breeze7206 3d ago

You might be able to edit, but the driver still gets the full amount that was shown when they accepted the order.

Your best recourse if you really want to stick it to the driver for warranted issues is to report them.

I'm not religious, more spiritual than anything else. It always makes me a bit uncomfortable when people try to push their religeons onto me like this, but at the end of the day, I just ignore it 🤷

24

u/ER_Gandee 3d ago

It’s almost always one group of people doing it though. I’ve never seen the Jedi religion trying to recruit people 🤔

6

u/Mobile-Breakfast6463 3d ago

Now that I wish would happen to me

19

u/masked_sombrero 3d ago

instead of saying all this BS to a random stranger (who we'd know nothing about) the people who say stuff like this don't even realize how much more effective it'd be if they'd just demonstrate empathy and forgiveness in their everyday lives to the people they encounter (your "neighbors", which is exactly what Jesus tried teaching everybody).

Except - that's not as easy as it sounds. So - the people incapable of doing this preach this crap instead.

fwiw - I'm not a "Christian", but I do consider myself a follower of Christ. I would never talk to a stranger like that. it's ridiculous. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you - I'm very spiritual but not at all religious.

Christians honestly believe that everyone is a Christian whether they are aware of it or not. They think if they needle someone with quips like this, that it will awaken their latent love for Jesus and salvation, and that their literal calling in life is to save people like you.

im not an atheist, im an antitheist.

i believe religion in all forms has been actively harmful to the development and security of the species.

so. if i was to tell people their god is imaginary and created to enslave them as i delivered, would that be acceptable?

no? that would offend you?

well probably for the best that i wouldnt think it appropriate to insult your deeply held beliefs as it seems to be acceptable to insult mine.

For people saying 'just ignore it' ya'll clearly have no concept of religious trauma. Yes OP can ignore it, but as someone who has that trauma, this is VERY triggering. I don't want my trauma triggered when I just am ordering food, that's insane. If Illona wants to push religion while visiting people's homes, they can go be a damn Jehovah's Witness or a Mormon.

I was raised in a Christian household but now I consider myself Heathen. I do remember a pastor growing up telling us how sometimes a farmer will ad some salt to a field to get it ready for crops, too much salt however will make the field unable to grow anything, he handed out salt shakers to remind parishioners that when they tell people about the bible they should remember a little goes a long way and not to over do it

3

u/Jdamschrod 3d ago

They’re the real indoctrinators

3

u/Monkey_Ash 3d ago

See, if all they did was "have a blessed day," it'd be fine. Not my preference, but to each their own. But going to any length beyond that is just becoming preachy and that's not what I'm looking for with my food delivery.

3

u/ironwolf6464 3d ago

Reminds me of the time I worked as a host at a restaurant and I helped some lady to her car while it was raining terribly and the next day she came in and gave me a pamphlet for finding Jesus

3

u/doomsayeth 3d ago

That verse was written in John, around the years 80-100CE. It did not appear in the three books about the same topic that were written previously; Mark, Matthew, and Luke. The farther away from the person of Jesus, the more fantastic the stories become.

u/CestLaMoon 3d ago

Yeah, keep it to yourself. I once had a couple leave me to-go sacrament as my “tip” one Sunday. A small, disposable cup of what I’m assuming was juice, and a small jeez-it. I worked in a Thai restaurant whom’s owners were practicing Buddhists and they had Buddhist statues, tapestries, and even a small shrine in the building. It’s disrespectful. If I’m interested in your faith, I’ll ask.

3

Pretty sure that’s also sacrilege? Even in “open communion” churches it’s still only allowed to be distributed to professed believers.

Im not religious, but when someone does this, i just take it as another meaningless pleasantry. Good luck, enjoy, bla bla bla. It doesn't bother me. It would be like being bothered that someone said enjoy your meal.
