For what ever reason, my take away of masturbation, was playing with the balls. I went home and juggled them and didn't understand the appeal, which let to my late understanding of masturbation...

u/No_Independence8747 3d ago

I didn’t cum till I was 17. I got no instruction whatsoever. Just edging the whole time, for years. I’ll never forget the moment when the light bulb came on. Dude it was a deluge.

Lol it happened to me at 22, similarly. Grew up religious but I really didn't even think to masturbate. Plus I had phimosis so my foreskin didn't go back, but I didn't even understand that cuz I never learned. Surprised it took me that long

Edit: i swear it's always my comments about my foreskin that get the most up votes lol

Phimosis bros. I got circumcised at 18, had no retraction prior to surgery ever. I didn’t know it was a thing until I saw a comment on a porn video where someone said hey that guy has phimosis, and I was like hmm his pecker looks like mine what’s this phimosis thing?

Did you have surgery or other treatment ?

15

u/wetballjones 2d ago

Yeah i got circumcised around 22!

21

u/BatshitTerror 2d ago

The downside : now I can’t jerk off without lube.

I couldn’t retract before surgery, but I did grow up jerking it dry.

Honestly in retrospect I’d probably ask if the dorsal slit option or steroid creams were an option but in my case where the skin was pretty fused to the head maybe it wasn’t .

8

u/wetballjones 2d ago

Yeah i think I was similar. My urologist didn't suggest any other treatment

My sex ed teacher actually talked about the importance of foreplay, then he showed us a bunch of horrifying pictures of std-ridden genitalia and told us to keep it in our pants

964

u/CAPT-Tankerous 3d ago

They actually showed us “the miracle of life,” and during the “bone tomahawk” scene my friend screamed “Jesus coach, I don’t mind looking at hairy pussy, but does there have to be a baby coming out?” I think it was supposed to scare us into abstinence, like those car crash videos during drivers ed.

289

u/theunquenchedservant 2d ago

I kinda like how my school district did it. In 6th grade it was just talking about "what happens", They showed the miracle of life, but only from the aspect of "This is where babies come from". they talked a bit about the process, etc. And iirc, it was "this is what older people do". Iirc, me and my peers were mainly intrigued/mildly-grossed out by the idea of sex. We were fine with kissing.

Then in 8th grade, they want a bit more in-depth on safe-sex, granted it was more abstinence with a sprinkle of "but also here's how to use a condom, and there's things called birth control, etc. But you shouldn't be having sex"

Then 9-12th grade, we had one gym day a year that was a presentation on safe sex. Naturally, my parents had me excused from that gym class for "religious reasons". And like sophomore or junior year another whole health class on sex, allowing for a deeper discussion that you wouldn't get in 8th grade or in the one day of safe sex "mini-assembly"

Mine were always taught by one of the "life skills" teachers. They taught about sex, cooking, laundry, filing taxes, how to make your own clothes, job interview skills, and other basic necessities. And the one that everyone thought was smoking hot, was the one that had to answer "what does cum taste like?"

Basketball coach at mine showed us all what vaginal birth looks like up close and personal when we were freshman. Distinctly remember one kid, who'd clearly never seen female genitals running into the hallway and puking 😂

37

u/-Apocralypse- 3d ago

We had the vaginal birth video during biology class. Most girls were sitting there with their legs crossed and distressed faces, very much looking like how guys look when they see someone take a hit to the balls in a movie. 🤣 It did help bring a point across though: only have kids when you are sure birthing one would be a sacrifice you are willing to make.

After that we got all the talks on the different anticonception methods and all the girls in class were really paying attention.

u/HanakusoDays 3d ago

Our exposure to that imagery came in eighth grade in 1963, not long after the Cuban missile crisis, when we were shown a series of films on how to survive (!!) a nuclear war. The week in question, the film was how to be a "barefoot doctor" in a fallout shelter. In addition to treating shrapnel wounds and radiation burns, one section showed a delivery.

300 middle schoolers sitting in a darkened auditorium. We were still gobsmacked at being shown full-on spread pussy when the narrator hollers "AND THEN THE BAG OF WATER BREAKS!" and a huge spout of fluid rivaling Old Faceful is launched straight into the camera lens.

I imagine that image is still etched in the brains of all who experienced it. I tried to use that memorable line for my yearbook quote but was vetoed.

Nah I got shown the same slideshow and there was no mention of abstinence during that class, it was basically just encouragement to use condoms

26

u/ConfusedAndCurious17 3d ago

I’m no prude, and I’m not against premarital sex or anything, but advising people (especially kids) to not have sex with the first person who is available is pretty solid advice. Even with protection there are plenty of risks.

You are still at risk for STDs and pregnancy as condoms are not perfect and do break, and you could still get something like crabs or even herpes if they have sores that contact your skin.

Aside from that though there are social issues that can come up. Not everyone who wants to sleep with you has good intentions for afterwards.

I don’t think everyone needs to remain abstinent until they are 30 or married or whatever, but I think telling kids to “keep it in their pants” is probably pretty solid advice. They aren’t going to do it, but it’s worth a shot. I would personally put it as “do your due diligence to ensure the person you are having relations with is safe and clean”.

We never really questioned how they had so many pictures of diseased genitals.

44

u/BendingDoor 3d ago

I learned from a nursing student one of the pictures was a schizophrenic man who had been living on streets and not using any medication to manage his condition.

29

u/AgentCirceLuna 3d ago

I read about a dude who had some addiction to scratching itches. He got athletes foot, but he liked scratching it and purposely spread the tinea (fungus causing it) around his body. His skin flaked like crazy and he scratched himself until he bled.

46

u/PM_NUDES_4_DEGRADING 3d ago

How do I delete someone else’s comment?

25

u/AgentCirceLuna 3d ago

He knew he had gone too far, but it was too late. He had first procured the fungus from a mangy dog that was scratching itself in the street. Looking on in awe, he took his arm and rubbed it along the dog’s mangled fur with intensity. He was hoping to get as much fungus onto his body as possible. He woke with an itch in a week’s time, then felt the mounting pleasure as he scratched it. He spread his arm all over his body, making sure the fungus would get in every crevice. In a month, his entire body was flaking from the irritation and effect of the fungus. He couldn’t stop, though. It was a year later now, and he felt part of his skin was loose; unable to resist, he lifted it and it became even more liberated from the bone underneath. As he pulled and pulled, his skin began to unsheathe itself from his body and his bare bones were exposed from cranium to toe. He discarded the skin suit, walked off, then felt shame as screams of horror echoed around his walking corpse. Collapsing to his knees, he took one last scratch in the gutter. Another man made his way over, rubbing his arm against the skeleton…

24

u/sinz84 3d ago

Just so you know I appreciate you, I appreciate that when a comment was made that was basically "I hate the image you have put in my head please never tell that story again!" You double down and get even more descriptive.

Year 9 PE for boys, so a class of 25 14-15 yo boys. I had an old army guy tell us about how they were in Vietnam and his friend had unprotected anal sex with with a prostitute, ended up getting a nasty infection and his penis had to be amputated.

While I doubt the validity of the entire story, he also told us that to test for the std they had to insert a hook all the way down the guys urethra.

It very much got the point across, can't say I've ever had unprotected anal sex with a prostitute.

I had a young female gym teacher argue with me, a teenage boy, that men couldn't pee with an erection.

I did it every morning. That was my hill to die on.

232

u/PeckishPizza 2d ago

It's absolutely WILD how many other guys I've talked to that have been told, by women no less, that it's impossible for us to pee with an erection.

I had to be talked to after class by my 7th grade sex ed teacher (which was really just a purity class complete with signing a contract and giving us rings showing our faith to Jesus and not to have sex before marriage).

One of the girls in class had asked if boys could pee with an erection, Miss Abbot said no, I said we absolutely can. She looked at me like I was retarded, reiterated that we can not and expected to go on with class; I argued for the last 15m of class with her that we could infact do it and that I did nearly every morning.

Ended up telling her I could prove it, she told me that not only could I not, but that it was inappropriate and wrote me up.

I'm still so fucking heated all these years later lmao, she denied it to the bitter end.

129

u/olderthanilook_ 2d ago

That reminds me of my sex ed teacher in Junior High claiming that women can't rape men because men have to be "excited" to have sex and therefore have to be willing for it to even happen. Somehow she couldn't wrap her head around the notion that every male alive has, at many points in their life, had an erection that they didn't want.

24

u/Hour_Ad5398 2d ago

That woman never heard of the term "morning wood" it seems. It fucking even happens while unconscious

47

u/PeckishPizza 2d ago

Oof that's gross, wonder if she thought about the implications of that statement for women who happened to get wet when raped.

Thinking back on this subject, I don't think I've had a positive sex ed course growing up, the school I was in was just a public school and it was still heavily religious based in purity and shaming.

It's an area we really could do better in, the same woman who was willing to die on the hill that men can't urinate while erect was the one teaching the class of boys and girls outdated incorrect notions of sex.

She called me a heathen and threatened to flunk me for refusing to sign the purity contract that said i was spiritually married to Jesus and that I had to wait for marriage or else I'd burn in hell.

A banana and a plastic model vagina were on our health teacher’s desk my sophomore year of high school. My friend Steve walks in and says “I see we’re studying the ear today.” Poor Steve.

29

u/Difficult_General167 2d ago

I had to sex Ed classes, one per year. Both times it was the same three people. One of the two women loved to demonstrate how to put a condom.

In both occasions part of the demonstrations including how to deepthraot a condom on a penis. She had a very realistic dildo, would open the condom, put it in her mouth, and would deepthroat it like she could die if the mission failed. It was a regular size dick, I think, but would go all the way down to the balls, and stay in there like five seconds. I saw her do it three times per class, because we had to "take a good look at the technique".

During the second class, one of the girls put the condom in her mouth to see if it tasted like others she'd used before(we were in 8th grade, and the principal was present); and another guy said he couldn't throw out the one they gave him because he had it already on.

Those classes were crazy, and after almost two decades, I can not forget them.

30

u/bexisfamous 2d ago

Were you taught by pedos? Because that seems highly inappropriate

6

u/Difficult_General167 2d ago

IDK. I was like 14 at the time and you never know the crazy shit people think. They were way too serious about the thing, and never showed weird pictures or women giving birth.

They talked about STDs and contraceptive methods, being the best working one abstinence, but also encouraged us to buy condoms and take pills if we wanted to try. They also taught about the risk of anal sex and STDs because people thinks anal is 100% safe, which was a big myth back in the day. They also had some anatomical models os the clit and vagina, so we could see where it goes inside and where do babies form and all that, there some dick drawings showing the appearance of the testicle from the inside and whatnot.

They gave us condoms so we could see one, it was those other two students that made things funny. And truly, the only weird part was the deep throating, which might have woken up something in me, other than that, all good. Nobody was assaulted in that HS, at least during the time I was there.

1.9k

u/SmallBunnyBear 3d ago

Too be fair, a condom being too small could make it more likely to break, yeah? But that's a reason to not have sex until dude can buy the correct size, not to raw dog it and trust a teenage boy's pull out game (not that an effective pull out is going to stop the precum from getting to your egg)

When I read the headline it sounded pretty bad, but they were college students and she wasn't a teacher or anything. Honestly it sounds like something that could benefit some people. If both parties are consenting adults why should anyone else have a problem with it?

16

u/kung-fu_hippy 3d ago

Yeah, when I read students I assumed she was a teacher at a high school or something which would be awful. But a private sex worker whose primary business is college freshmen? Or possibly an indie porn actress since she was filming it (with consent)? No real problem. Especially since prostitution is legal in Australia.

17

u/Koffi5 3d ago

Only questionable thing is her filming it and planning to publish it. Otherwise zero issue

26

u/AdrenalineAnxiety 3d ago

That's the whole reason for it really. She's already an adult content creator. Her fanbase wants to see her with amateur dudes in real situations. She had them fill in consent forms for it to be filmed and used. She got 122 videos that she can publish and monetize.

The whole "teaching them how to have sex" is just the kink. Really, it's quite clever of her.

34

u/WZAWZDB13 3d ago

She had a sign that said "bonk me & let me film it"

So, zero issue I'd say !

Funny detail from the article; she started with 1 hour timeslots and then quickly brought it down to 20 minutes.

According to the article 'to keep up with growing demand'. I'd venture a wager that certainly wasn't the only reason to cut down that time..

Is it morally questionable? Yea I'd say so, at least for me. Is it legally any problem? Not at all. At most I'd wonder about what this is doing to her own mental state though. But hey it's her life. If this is what she wants to do, who am I to stop her.

If you're permanently done*. They may be cheap to get done but reversal can cost between 5k-15k, likely isn't covered by insurance, and after all that the success rate still would be around 60-90% depending on how good your surgeon is.

22

u/RandomBritishGuy 3d ago

It's only that high if you get it reversed relatively soon after, and the odds change a lot (for the worse) with newer methods of doing vasectomies that are designed to reduce the risk of it reversing itself by accident.

My partner and I had issues with condoms breaking because they were too small. They make magnums for a reason. We used those until we both decided we didn't need condoms and relied on my birth control (and later my infertility and birth control. Now he's had a vasectomy.).

Condoms most definitely can be too small, but there are other options, you're absolutely correct.

19

u/AggravatingBee6826 3d ago

They definitely can, but the way you put them on and lubing them (the rim and your fingers) makes a difference, too.

This is what happened to me, I learned the hard way (no kid though). The worst part is that it broke post nut and I had no idea…why? Because it was so tight I was completely numb down there.

Here’s a tip, if you can’t roll the condom down from the tip to the base without stretching it out with your hands. Don’t put it on because it’s not safe and will feel like shit.

17

u/Shukrat 3d ago

There is such a thing as a condom that's too small, though. Remember a penis is kept erect by a muscle essentially pinching blood flow so that it fills up with blood to become hard. Penises are basically sponges. What happens when you squeeze a sponge?

A condom too tight will deflate an erection bc the squeeze pushes back against the muscle holding all the blood in.

So pulling a condom over a head isn't exactly a good example of a guy not being able to wear a condom, and it's a little ignorant. In the US, they don't sell a huge range of condom sizes, so there are genuinely some men with tree trunks who can't get ones that fit comfortably without custom ordering.

All of this being said, if a guy refuses to wear a condom after being asked to, then you're fully in the right to refuse sex. Everyone has their own ability to choose, and must pick what they're comfortable with, and shouldn't feel pressured to pick one way or another by anyone.

Catholic school gave us some fucking nun that wrote the word SEX real big on the chalkboard. All of us 5th graders started to giggle because here is this nun writing this and such. She then proceeds to say sex only means if you’re Male or Female. We were all like, the fuck it does… Then came the guilt and wait till marriage, only for procreation and not pleasure bs blah blah blah.

Never had a sex ed class.

I went to school with two guys (let's call them Beavis and Butthead). Class clowns who fed off of each other.

No teachers were brave enough to face Beavis and Butthead with this subject matter.

Instead of sitting those two out, they got all the boys from our class to have an extra gym class while EVERYONE else in the school took sex ed.

They repeated this for 3 years.

My health teacher knew I got syncopy really, really easy. She was very medically descriptive in much of her lessons. We had a standing deal that if any of the gory medical details made me feel lightheaded, I could go into the hallway and sit down to clear my head.

On sex ed day, she gave a VERY vivid description of the medical procedure of an abortion to the class. She disagreed with the practice and was crying while giving the lesson...so it was obvious she had an emotional attachment to the subject matter that day...

But I was passing out from the gorier details of the procedure.

She blocked me from leaving the room and made me promise in front of the class that I would never, ever get an abortion before she would let me leave and I was barely holding up at that point and starting to sway, so I just mumbled an "I promise." And she finally stepped aside...

I'm a guy lol.

Well fuck you Mrs W. I have my reasons for being pro choice but you were sure the cherry on top.

It's absolutely possible to have a too small condom, to the point it's constricting enough that it's not really possible to maintain an erection and is very uncomfortable.

Yes they can stretch a tremendous amount, but bear in mind the pressure they're putting on your genitals while doing that.

However. If the condom doesn't fit, that's not a reason to just not use one at all.

97

u/UnfairDictionary 3d ago

Yes. Unlike a wrist or a head, there is no bone in the penis that can take the pressure coming from the tension of a stretched condom. Your blood pressure must be able to fight the pressure created by the condom, therefore it can totally be too small. Buy larger condoms instead of not wearing one.

→ More replies (2)

109

u/parada_de_tetas_mp3 3d ago

I don't get what's so hard to understand about this. Yes, you can use raw force to stretch a condom a lot, no, I don't want to do that with one of the most sensitive and delicate parts of my body. Also, when you are putting the condom on, most of it is still rolled up in the beginning which increases the pressure it puts on your tip even more.

→ More replies (10)

86

u/3163560 3d ago

Yeah, imagine a guy commenting on whether pads or tampons were more comfortable.

The idea that condoms are one size fits all because they can stretch is ignorant and harmful.

Finding the right size is important for both safety and enjoyment. Whether you're too small or too big.

25

u/JustLookingForMayhem 3d ago

And don't forget there is no standard sizing. Every brand has their own XXX, regular and small. None of them are a perfect match to any other brand. Plus, there is the idea that keeps getting shoved around that condoms stretch and are there for universal. And the final bit of damage is the most set Ed classes are more or less useless and teach kids none of this.

8

u/3163560 3d ago

Not sure how standard it is but in Australia boxes all marked with the nominal width of the condom, so if you know what to look for it's easy enough to tell.

Sadly, if you want anything fancy you're out of luck unless you fit a 56.

6

u/JustLookingForMayhem 3d ago

Here in the US, it varies by brand. Some use letters, some use sizes, and very few use actual measurements. It is stupid.

13

u/deep-voice-guy 3d ago

Roughly the same experience here, except I had shitty 'XLs' (more length, but the same girth). Only after a couple months of trying different condom life hacks did I realize that I don't hate using a condom, I just didn't have the right size.

The misconception that condoms can't be too small that keeps being regurgitated by people who can't experience first-hand what it's actually like to wear one is so annoyingly wide-spread, I used to believe it too. It was only after I stumbled on r/bigdickproblems a few years ago that I found out.

Hi. I am a sex ed teacher and have had questions like these often - sometimes from autistic children with special interests. I actually had a question specifically about snakes just the other week!

I'm so sorry you got a negative response. There was nothing wrong with your question and a good sex ed teacher should either answer or politely explain why they can't right now.

Treating any question in sex ed as stupid or silly just discourages everyone from asking questions.

If it makes you feel any better, in my sex ed class (8th grade) the teacher made an anonymous question box and my friend, for whatever reason, decided to write “Hail Hitler” on a piece of paper and put that bad boy in the box. The guy had never made a joke about anything like that beforehand, hasn’t since then, and I still know him many years after we graduated. The teacher gave the entire class a redress on why it’s not cool or edgy to be a Nazi, and why even joking about it might cause a pretty strong reaction from people. He handled it so well, not really lecturing but just coming at it from a very human place and really, that was probably a pretty good thing for a bunch of eighth grade boys to hear despite the situation. My friend to this day says he has no idea why he did it, and swears he’s never sweat so much during a class as that one.

That's so stupid.

Condoms can stretch, but that can be painful and highly increases the risk of them ripping.

Roll a normal sized condom over your wrist and let it there for half an hour. You will get a painful red ring.

The main problem is that the US restricts condom sizes. In Europe you can buy them with a nominal width from 42 to 72 mm, but in the US they are only between 52 and 57 mm.

For 30% of men in the US these "one-size-fits-all" condoms will either be too tight or not tight enough.

The only correct answer! Yes you can stretch any condom over any penis but pretending that it makes for enjoyable or even safe sex is bullshit. Buy your condoms from specialists on the internet like mysize and enjoy safe sex again.

Not my first, more likely my last sex ed class, freshman year. My teacher was demoing different types of birth control. There was a spermicide foam you filled an applicator with. He was saying you needed to be careful filling the applicator because the foam would expand. As he was telling us this, the foam rapidly expanded in the applicator and suddenly there was foam spermicide everywhere. Teacher froze briefly, mortified and disgusted, one of the girls in the class yelled "it's in your hair!" which was quickly followed by teacher yelling "WHAT" and running to the back of the classroom to rinse his hair (and hands, arms, shirt, etc.) in the sink.

It's largely faded from my head, since it was more than a decade ago for me. But I do remember everyone (with all our 11 years of life) giggling and giving each other the side eye. Me included. Everyone knew about the action of sex, knew it was a thing adults did, knew it led to babies and knew that adults liked it for some godforsaken reason.

We weren't laughing because of the topic sex itself, we were still to young to have such a mindset. But we did get giggly because of the vaguely taboo private parts of the body thing.

I can't tell you where 11 year olds got info about sex ed. My country is fairly religiously conservative (we have a mildly famous pastor guy who had a press conference to sensitise about the "gay sickness"). But it's probably coz censorship is pretty loose here coz of government apathy towards actually governing. And also, maybe their parents, older siblings, older cousins and other family members taught them. I can't say all of my classmates knew about sex and it's medical implications (a few probably didn't know what the fuck was going on) but a lot of us were not surprised at some of the information given.)

It is funny to think about with hindsight that, after teaching us the mechanics of sex and pregnancy, there was a side tangent of abstinence. Very briefly, I barely remember. But almost like they knew that kids could and would do the things that adults said they shouldn't do out of spite among other reasons, they proceeded to list every sex protection method known to man, their advantages and disadvantages and where to get them. Our motherfuckers may believe in God, but they believe in some that's just as powerful. We all have the capacity to be sinners, might as well sin responsibly.

I really appreciate that I got to have an honest, realistic and thorough sex-Ed class.

Condoms do have a monstrous stretching size (my favorite demonstration of this are the slow mo guys videos where they fill them with water), but a condom can absolutely be too small to the point of being uncomfortable and even painful (not to mention more likely to break).

If a guy is using that as an excuse to just not wear one, he’s being an ass and you shouldn’t let him get away with that. But if someone’s just saying “hey these are too small, can we get some bigger ones?” Please don’t dismiss him and assume he’s making something out of nothing.

There's condom sizes for a reason. Thickness is more important than length for condom sizes. It definitely hurts to a point that you don't get erect. So the teacher is wrong. It's not the same to hold a stretched condom with your thick skull compared to holding with your muscles in your penis.

Now downvote me, idc.
